If you're in Cheyenne (or Laramie) and your looking for authentic fun then the Bit-O-Wyo Ranch is a must visit. Great surroundings, great meal, great home-spun country-western music. The people are friendly and this doesn't smell at all like "tourist trap". It was just plain good fun.

My husband, sister and 13 year-old grandson attended the dinner and musical comedy show at the Bit-o-Wyo Ranch in mid-July. We live in Virginia and our grandson lives in Maryland. I had attended this show perhaps 20 years ago and had some concerns about how it might have changed over the years and whether our grandson would enjoy it. My concerns evaporated immediately.Although the venue, the owner's ranch, is a bit hidden away on a back road between Cheyenne and Laramie WY with a steep gravel road at the turnoff for the last mile, they have the access and egress down to a science. They provide a large grassy area for parking with assistance from the ranch hands. The show is carefully timed to end at the beginning of summer's dusk so you have adequate time to exit with enough light to get to the main road before dark. There is even a handicapped entrance for those who have difficulty with uneven terrain. The food is fantastic -- thick, juicy steak cooked to your taste (my sister likes "blue" rare and she got it), a tasty melange of "cowboy beans", a delicious chunky applesauce, a baked potato with butter and/or sour cream, and a moist chocolate brownie for desert! Water, coffee or lemonade is there to slake your thirst. Our grandson LOVES steak, so as a vegetarian I gave him mine as well, so he was ecstatic. I really can't say enough about how good the food was, especially as it is cooked for up to 100 people at one time. The show by five guys and a gal is very entertaining with Western humor, singing, poetry, music from a banjo, mandolin, guitar and bass fiddle, and a very clever recitation of a couple of fairy tales with the letters of words exchanged (example: dill pickle becomes pill dickle) that had our grandson in stitches. You would be amazed how this changes a fairy tale!! This experience is G-rated but very well done and enjoyable by the whole family. I would recommend it highly for anyone willing to step a little bit off the beaten path for a genuinely fun evening. There were people there from across the country and even a couple from Belgium. We all had a really great time!

Loved everything about this place. They were right when they told me, "When you turn into the ranch, don't think you're there. You have another mile or so." Beautiful drive to the actual location. Very nice meal but the whole evening was about the experience. Loved it.

Absolutely the best! We stopped here on our way from Denver to Yellowstone and what a great surprise it was. We got there just as our steak dinner was on the grill. We eat our fabulous dinner alongside the horses in the barn. After dinner, they turned the tables into benches and we were treated to a real country music show that was very entertaining. My two younger girls (10 and 13) got a little antsy about half way through the show and asked if they could go walk around outside. After the show they came back all excited about spending time with one of the girls at the ranch who showed them the horses. This is not your typical tourist trap. This is the real deal and one of the highlights of our trip.

Good food, great music, nice scenery - a very pleasant evening! The steaks are cooked on the grill and dinner is eaten in the horse barn. The tables convert to seating for the show.

Our day at Bit o Wyo was a fabulous experience! We had 11 people, so our trail rides had to be split into 3 groups. Those who waited behind got to shoot bow & arrows and take in the beautiful scenery. Those on the trail were treated to spectacular views. The horses were well behaved and our wranglers, Morgan and Brett, were awesome! We concluded our day with the Cowboy dinner show in the barn. It was raining pretty hard and the barn floor got a little mucky, but the show and meal were worth it. Very hospitable and friendly place. Definitely a must stop when in the Cheyenne area!!

While stopping in Cheyenne, Wyoming we took the opportunity to go to the Bit-O-Wyo Ranch for the dinner and show. The ranch is not far from Cheyenne. The road to the barn is about a mile long and mildly rough. Once you reach the barn be prepared to enjoy a great grilled steak, ranch style beans, baked potato, chunky applesauce, fudgie brownie, with ice water or lemonade to wet your whistle. The show follows dinner and was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, you will too.

We had so much fun going to this ranch! They had an awesome Cowboy / Country show. They were singing, dancing and telling joke. VERY entertaining! The food was delicious, they srved steak with baked potatoes, apple sauce and desert. Great time to spend a summer weekend with your family and kids can even pet the horses!

Lots of fun for both out of town visitors and locals. Family friendly atmosphere. A little kitchy but still a lot of fun. Band is good and fun to sing along with. Food isn't spectacular, but is sufficient. The atmosphere and entertainment is what really makes this place stand out.

If there's been rain, the dirt road can be challenging. Chuckwagon style eating, but steaks and rest of meal were great. The entertainment is Class A. We always take Frontier Days guests up for a really fun time. Be warned...quite a few flies due to proximity of horses.

We attended the BIT-O-WYo Horse Barn Dinner Show and took a trail ride. This is a great time. The trial rides were thru some great scenery and the steak dinner and show were outstanding. We really did feel like part of the family when we left. Just sorry the BIt-O-Wyo no longer offers overnight stays
