During cross country season, my team had races at holmdel park. It really was the best race of the season. Everyone was always excited to run there. There are so many hills. The race course is notoriously known for "the bowl". It is a big hill during the race. Holmdel is one of my favorite places to visit. I wish I could build a house in the center of the park and live there. Especially during the fall, it is the most beautiful. If your visiting, definitely take a hike through the trails. It's just gorgeous!

Went on Girl Scout trip in November to Longstreet Farm nestled in the Holmdel Park and recreation area. Admission is FREE for anyone and a guide took us on a tour of the farm to see cattle, horses, stables, carriage house, chicken coop, sheep, pigs and then demo to make old fashion apple cider where each person got a sample. Also have a blacksmith demo and beautiful photo ops in the fall foliage. We took the back roads through Freehold. rt 9 to Adelphia rd. to Halls Mills to Colts Neck road, rt. 34 to Longstreet road. Gorgeous foliage. Nice drive and arrive at park entrance. Like Colonial Williamsburg without the 4 hr drive and hell hot heat of a summer trip.

Holmdel Park is part of the Monmouth County Park System and has served the people of the county with stellar results. At this park, a visitor may hike the trails that wander throughout the acreage, visit the arboretum, go fishing for trout - or bass - or sunfish, have a picnic, learn about the past at Longstreet Farm, play on the gym sets, play tennis, jog - the list goes on and on. Holmdel Park should be a model of what a park should be - if it isn't already. Go at any time, just be aware that the trails are also a world-class cross country track venue. The park is crowded at these meets. Also, parking can be a challenge when the sledding hill is open in winter. Other than these times, peace and quiet are yours for the taking.

I used to go here to walk or jog and when the kids were kids, we'd take them to the little petting zoo and play at their playground. Good place for a family picnic.Pretty, well maintained grounds with good trails.

The historical Longstreet Farm located inside the Holmdel Park hosts a fall festival in late September. They have hands on demos to make apple ciders and saw trees, contests to east pies and shuck corns, and live performances by musicians and magicians.

Want to enjoy picnic, fly a kite, hike a trail, enjoy a serene day? Go into this park. It is quite nice, and spacious. Word of caution though the trails that lead from this park into Tatum Park are not especially well marked. Have gotten lost here and have helped people out who have also wound up on the opposite side of where they began. Playground on Tum side is large and well cared for, restrooms and public areas are always kept immaculate.

This is the perfect park for a day out with the family. You can go fishing, running, kids can play at 2 parks. They have a spot for birthday parties, live animals and plenty of space to play sports.

Been visiting this park for several years and the crowds have grown larger every year. It is a large park with lots to do however if you are looking for quiet this is not the place. However during the week, there are less crowds. Lots of trails for walking, jogging, children's area playground, picnic area and lake and Longstreet Farm on the property. Nice to take small children to see the animals and special events on some weekends. During certain times you can see deer surrounding the park. Birding is difficult due to the amount of foot and bike traffic as well as small children. Nice park for family and to enjoy the outdoors (with people).

A very well kept park, where you can truly communicate with nature. You can walk for hours without getting bored, however you need to like the outdoors. There is a lot to see and experience, whether you're a bird watcher, or an athlete. You can also picnic in several different areas, and even babaque if you so desire.

Don't come......keep it a secret. The Lake, trails, playgrounds, tennis courts and 1890's working farm make it unique. Always well maintained and safe, the 100+ acres are spacious and quiet. You must reserve a covered picnic area in advance, especially on weekends. Have fun!

We went here on Memorial Day. It is beautiful and peaceful. We walked around the living farm and went into the old home (which is only open on special days). There were hundreds of others here walking and having picnics. Young kids will specially enjoy the farm and its animals.
