I was staying at the Heldrich across the street and had an evening alone with nothing to do. The receptionist recommended George Street Playhouse. They were playing a charming play called "Buyer & Cellar" with an actor named John Tartaglia. I was sceptic to a one man show, but I soon changed my mind. A wonderful play, a great actor and a very nice theater. The fact that I got the tickets at half price an hour before the show started did not make matters worse. Go there!

Almost everything that is put on at the George St Playhouse is enjoyable. Overall, the theatre experience there is far better than many other regional theaters. We have been subscribers for a while and have been very happy with the play selection most of the time. It is too bad that they do not always fill up. We have never been able to figure out why more people do not go.

From the outside it looks like a movie theater, but step inside and you're transformed into another world. Architecture inside is grandoise. Seating from any seat is a perfect view of the stage.

We have visited the playhouse several times. Most recently, my wife took me for my birthday. Whether your attending a play or a acrobatic display of talent, it is delight to be there. The seating is perfect with chairs having ample room. The acoustics are perfect so anyone can hear throughout the theater. The performances are terrific. If you don't have time to go to NYC, this is the place to go when you in the area.

I had never been to the playhouse and I recently saw the Fabulous Lipitones with one of my sons. The theater was very clean, beautiful and cozy. The actors were talented and engaging. I was also pleasantly surprised for intermission that I could enjoy a glass of wine. They also had several beers and some snacks. I will definitely go back for another play.

First of all, there are hardly any bad seats in this theater. My seats are on the floor in the 2nd row on the aisle and have been a subscriber for weveral seasons. These seats are great because the stage is only 1 foot higher than the floor and your head tilts slightly up. The plays overall are excellent. Occasionally, there is a play that I am not crazy about but that is personal preference. The stage design is fantastic, the acting is wonderful and the actors are known names such as Marlo Thomas, Tyne Daly, Peter Scolari, etc. We will keep our suscription forever. It is a treat to see these plays and they are a wide range from musicals to dramas. David Saint, the artistic director, has described it the five plays per season as a five course meal from appetizers to desert. Therefore, there are farces and their are serious dramas during the season. It is a true joy to see a play there.

There are no bad seats, and the shows are usually Very Good to Excellent. Lots of great restaurants to choose from within walking distance for dinner or a drink before the show.

We have attended numerous productions at the George Street Playhouse. The productions are almost always of high quality, with some major name actresses/actors and several plays having moved from GSP to off-Broadway! Almost all seats have excellent ot good visibility. Would not sit at stage level, but instead suggest being slightly elevated. Center seats are better than the sides, but you can still see from the side sections. A little known fact is that you can get rush tickets at 50% off if you purchase them within an hour or so of the performance. Obviously, this only works if you are willing to take a chance and wait. But it is great if you want to catrch a show on the spur of the moment.

we have been subscribers for many years, have seen probably 100 shows. With one exception, every show was well worth the hour drive to the theater. That show was "Bored Stiff" and we were. Even there, the actors tried. Definitely the theater to attend in New Brunswick.

I have been to George Street Playhouse on a few occasions and had a great evening of theater every time. They have a great selection of shows and something for everyone. The last show I saw was "Getting the Band Back Together" and it was tremendous. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance making this a great location for a full night of theater, good food, and cocktails.

Saw "Out town" from a very good seat in the playhouse ( about 1/4 up from the front stage) and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I might say that this is the best theater production I saw in a while. What was really amazing was that for this play, the main event (the wedding) happens a few rows down from where I was seated. I recommend buying tickets at the box office so that you can get great seats.

We have subscribed to George St for quite a few years. It is a very nice small theatre with very few bad seats. The selection of plays is interesting. They highlight many new plays. Some are hit some misses but for the most part, all of the productions are very well produced and acted. David Saint does a very good job of picking plays that are entertaining to his audience. My only complaint is that the room is kept too cold most of the time.
