A nice variety of activities at a somewhat reasonable price, especially if you use Groupon and spend at least several hours after arriving at opening time. Be willing to spend the extra $5 per child for the bounce house area and the extra $3 per child for the scooter ride (Not included in admission – the web site indicated 20 minute visits to each of these areas on weekends for the additional price, but we were not asked to leave after 20 minutes. We had to return to enter the bounce area because a birthday party was there when we first stopped. ). Visited with a 9, 8, and 5 year old. The older children loved it but mostly younger children were present, and they (along with a couple of parents), seemed a bit concerned about the presence of older children at some exhibits. There is a large area to the left of the video games that seems reserved for younger children, but we got in with the 5 year old. In this section you must remove your shoes and they have a ball pit, small vehicles to ride on, a play house room, structures to climb on and crawl through, some toys, and a couple of nice couches. This area may not be easy to notice, so print the map at home to bring with you, and ask questions about where all the exhibits are located if you cannot easily find them. Additionally, there is a larger play house and dress up area, a little 3D educational movie room, drawing/coloring area, bubble room where you make bubbles with big wands, small diorama scenes with seemingly preserved insects throughout, more toys, two small rock climbing walls, lots of preserved butterflies, and more. There are several themed rooms for birthday parties, and some larger event rooms. The butterfly atrium was very nice. Though we only saw one butterfly and two birds (though this is indoors it is understandable for the protection of the creatures as the region was just coming out of a long cold spell), there were many plants, trees and flowers. Also a small pond with those large goldfish. They also have what would be the equivalent of a reptile house at a small zoo. Regular admission is $16 for adults and $11 for children (more for the bounce house and scooters). Check Groupon for discounts. The web site says you can pay $3 for a coat basket but we were not offered and I forgot to ask. I held the children’s coats but upon leaving saw what might have been a free coat rack. Parking lot seemed to fill to capacity as we left around 2:00 or 3:00 on a Saturday. Getting there around opening time at 10:00 mad the experience more enjoyable as we avoided crowds for most of the visit. Did not try the food. They offer pizza, burgers, wings, etc.

I literally had to ask if we were in the right room and where the butterflies were. "Our numbers are low right now" We only found 2 types and none were flying unless provoked. The had a reptile exhibit but that's not what we came for. They also have some freaky bedazzled bugs. Someone glued glitter and gems to them. I have been to a few of these butterfly exhibits and this was the worse one I have ever seen. Complete waste of time and money!Also, on a side note. They need to fire their snow removal crews. The driveway was only 1 car wide and the parking lot was barely plowed.

WOW is suppose to stand for World of Wings -- from our visit that should be changed to With Out Wings. We counted a total of 10 butterflies but basically only one type. What a sad reflection of their name. The atrium space for the butterflies had more birds flying around. Will admit the reptile area there was pretty good. Without that the visit would have been worthless.

My 6 year old grandson loved museum but my 11 year old was a little bored until we visited the reptile area .

World of Wings was the perfect place to bring my daughter of 2 years to. She loved seeing the big turtle, the butterflies, the amphibians, and other exotic animals. The space available to play is positively overwhelming and so are the activities. One can climb walls, play with bubbles, play in a "pretend" kitchen, play dress up, play in big bouncy toys and so on and so on. Perfect. Food area is good, really adjusted for children. I loved it and will be back many more times to come.

Located around 15 mins from the NJ side of the GW bridge - this place was really a great way to spend a cold afternoon with the kids. I spent an afternoon there with my 2, 4 and 6 year old girls who could not get enough after 3 hours.There's a great butterfly and lizard exhibit which was really beautiful and exciting for adults as well. The Gymboree for ages 5 and under was huge with lots of creative toys and activities. The bubble room was fun and the play kitchen area also provided many props for imaginative play. The dress up room was a big hit for the girls with costume jewelry and a pretend coach.There a dance activity ever few minutes and a 3d movie about butterflies that was entertaining. The a snappling wall was also challenging for my 6 year old.There's a cafe to purchase food and a comfortable circular dining area to eat your own food if brought from home.There are groupon tickets and other coupons you can find for a discounted entrance. There's plenty of free parking.

The name of the place could be misleading...there are very few butterflies and that's one of the attraction. the reptile section is far better than the butterfly section. Lot of activities for kids, ball pit, bouncing castle are to name the few. As I mentioned in the title itself, if you have any coupon, it's nice place. The exhibitions are not easy to find so you need to be good with the map or keep on asking the staff.

There were not many butterflys this time of year but what they had was beautiful! There were many other animals to see. They had lots to see and do. I have a 2 and 5 year old and they both enjoyed it and did not want to leave.

Part museum, part fun house, World of Wings located in Teaneck, NJ offers a variety of unique attractions for kids. The museum offers a huge display of pinned butterflies from all around the world. They even have live reptiles, amphibians and insects that you can walk around to see. You can take a self-guided tour of the facilities and learn a lot from the signs on the displays. The key highlight of the facility is the butterfly atrium. This is an enclosed space reminiscent of a rainforest which has live tropical species of butterflies and birds. You are able to walk around the enclosed space and perhaps a butterfly will land on you. It’s a great spot for a photo opportunity and the staff that works in the atrium is extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the rest of the maze-like building, you will walk through other random play spaces for kids like a rock climbing wall, an arcade area (extra fee) and bounce house area (an extra fee). Other imaginary play areas include a princess dress up room and a play kitchen that are oddly placed in between rooms that can be booked for private parties. Compare to a year ago, things got much better in all over the place. They added a lot of stuffs. Kids' birthday room has more decorations and themes.If your kids want to bounce, make sure they don't have birthday reservations all day. Otherwise you will wait long hours to use bounce for 30 min.You can stay all day here and let kids explore all those things they offer.

A great place to spend a few hours. Plenty of places to play - giant bubbles, kitchen with lots of stuff, slides, balls, riding toys, climbing wall. Atrium with butterflies is lovely. Get discount coupons on Groupon or Living Social. Could use more staff at various stations to oversee children and organize toys.

WoW is one of my family's favorite places to take my kids to spend a couple of hours playing on a rainy day. The tickets with coupons are roughly $10 a person, which makes it cheaper than a lot of other attractions in the NYC metro area. In terms of the venue itself, it is half museum, half play rooms. I will say it is run-down in some places, but overall it is well done. There are places with trains, bubbles, scooters, bouncy house, etc. And of course there is the Butterfly atrium. And while you're not overwhelmed with butterflies while you're there, I have often had butterflies land on me and my family. And they are certainly flying about along with colorful birds. There are also some snakes, frogs and lizards as a part of the museum.Bottom line: My kids NEVER complain, and it's an easy, relatively inexpensive afternoon.

I decided to celebrate my son's 3rd birthday and made the best choice ever. This is the perfect place for children as not only they offer all the safe areas for the children to play, but they also offer science, imagination, exploration and great food for children and adults. The pizza is great and the pasta is excellete (penne vodka, eggplant p.) I did not feel the rush that I felt when I once went to a party in one of those bouncing places, where they even take you out when the party is over. I also paid for my guess to stay exploring the place after the birthday party was over, so it did not feel like a 2 hours party. It was a half day party from 2pm to 6pm. The children has a blast, almost forgot that they also offer around one hour of bouncing, so children have all in one place (reptile exhibition, butterfly atrium exploration, bouncing time, party time, and then the museum is all yours. Love it and highly recommended. (price: very reasonable)

Went with another grandmother. 3 year olds who had to be lifted to see lizard and insect exhibit. Liked but did not love feeling of butterflies on their bodies. Play area designed for their age group was well done. Know in advance that everyone, including adults needs socks to enter the play section. Would go back.

With a name like "World of Wings", I guess as a butterfly lover, I was expecting an abundance of butterflies, but there is many more attractions here than the butterfly attrium. Although I was slightly disappointed with the limited variety of butterflies, my boys had a terrific time and honestly, that's what's most important to me. The lizard zone, amphibian alley, speciman lab, reptilia room & butterfly attrium are all included, but once you're inside many of the other attractions are ala carte.They range from $2-5/kid for rock climbing, the bounce room & scooter play and of course all these activities were a huge hit with my energetic 4 & 8 year old boys! Overall, this is a cute location for children of various ages.
