Inexpensive entrance fee, to hear local musicians play their hearts out to entertain. Always lots of toe-tapping, lap-slapping, finger-snapping and clapping for people who live in your community with real talent. Some performers are in groups and others act alone. No disappointments here. No-alcoholic beverages and local pies, cakes, brownies are available to purchase. Non-smoking!
You will never forget your Saturday night experience at Albert Music Hall in Waretown . Although the locals will tell you you are in the Pinelands and they are Pineys, the thing to remember is you are going to hear some authentic country, bluegrass, and folk music. The evening we were there found a mixed bag of talent. Some acts were really wonderful and expert, while others not "ready for prime time." Great musicians were playing on the porch and in the Pickin' Shed, so if you go, hang out in those areas for a while. By all means, go to Albert Hall and enjoy an evening full of genuine and fun music.
Always a great show. Six bands each Saturday night. So much talent and good music! All for only $5. You must make sure to get there.
Albert Hall is a historic venue where musicians play great music. Admission is only $5 for an evening of fun and songs. Want dinner? a hot dog is only $2! Everyone who works or plays there is a volunteer--no paid employees. Most of the musicians are self-taught and play without reading music. Don't miss it!
I've been wanting to go to this place for a few years now, and have never gotten around to it. Finally last night I went and it exceeded all my expectations. It's a cute little music hall that costs 5 bucks to get in and every half hour or so a new blue grass/ country band plays. Since there's no booze, the emphasis is definitely on the music, and they had a great line up that night. They also serve refreshments, and for 1.50 I could choose from an array of desserts ( some looked homemade.) After the show, I walked over to the 'Pickens stand which is a garage next door where the locals can get together every Saturday night and jam together. It definitly an old fashion good time! The only thing I found disappointing is that I hadn't gotten there sooner.
Country and Blue Grass all evening and all the musicians play for free.A great night out and all for just $5 with all monies going to charity, I loved "The Pickin Shed" and could have stayed in there for the whole event.A real " Gem " in New Jersey, keep up the good work and great music.
Country and blue grass, just love this event. Happens every week for charity, all musicians perform for free. Good value for money at $5 for the evening. Don't forget to visit the picking shed where musicians can take their instruments and play along in the true spirit of the Albert brothers who were the inspiration for the hall.
if you like country or blue grass...this is it. local musicians jam in the "pickin' shed" and other local groups perform in the main theater. it is a fun evening!
I have been here several times and it is a great night! Admission is $5 and well worth it as the bands begin at 7:30, doors at 6:30 and go until about 11:30. (If you go for their Christmas show you want to get there closer to 6:30 than 7:30 but most nights it isn't too crowded.) There is a half hour intermission around 9:30 and they offer a snack bar with hot dogs, cakes and pies but the main attraction is the music. The bands are always different but they all play a variety of bluegrass, and country music. Everything is not for profit and the bands play for the fun of it so there is a lot of joking and fun on the stage as well as people in the audience singing along or blowing train whistles (where appropriate). Some bands are better than others of course but you can tell everyone is there to have a good time. I recommend bringing some flat pillows or seat cushions as the chairs can be rather uncomfortable.
This is the best musical value you can get in the area. If you like truly made in America music then this is the blue grass venue for you. There's as much fun outside as there is inside during the summer and a must do if you are in the area.
Take a step back into time with this place. Go to the Halloween Party for a hootanany time. We bought a hot dog, sodas and tucked in for some songs. It was fun. the kids loved it.
If you like the sound of the pines, here's the original place to hear it and some other types of music on a Saturday night.
if you love live acoustic music and variety, this is an excellent choice that won't break your pocketbook. We stayed the whole 4 hours listening to an array of bands..each one entertaining and excellent in their own way. You can't go wrong with this one.
Albert Music Hall, run by the Pinelands Cultural Society, offers a great variety of local and regional musicians as well as some bonefide country stars. Bands change every half-hour and the refreshments are first rate. No alcohol, no smoking. Great place for a Saturday night out and at only $5.00 per person, you can not beat it.
