Find your way down Durham Point Road past several short residential roads on the left. Adams Point road is on your left, just before the downhill slope to Crommetts Creek. If you miss it, stop for a minute to survey Crommetts Creek, where you may see a heron, ducks or just a good glimpse of Great Bay and this little tributary. Going back to the road to the point, drive carefully, as this road is smooth but quite narrow, Once you arrive at the boat launch area, you might park here and explore the shoreline or launch a kayak or boat. But heed the tide, since the launch area at low tide will be separated from navigable water by up to 50 yards of mud. Or proceed up the road to the UNh marine research facility and park. Several paths fan out along the shoreline, through fields or loop thru the woods. Formerly the homestead of Captain Adams, the house is long gone but the family burial plot remains. Tread lightly, please be respectful of common land and don't trespass on the lab grounds or their docks.. But do enjoy a very special place.

It's off the beaten path and Bay Road itself is a very interesting drive, but it can be an excellent recreational area with a put-in for kayaking, paths for bird watching and just plain relaxation overlooking Great Bay.

Adams Point gives you the chance to see NH saltwater marshes, fast-moving tidal water, fields and forests all in a very compact and easily negotiated setting. Be aware that the fields are full of ticks, but it's NH, so that's to be expected. The hike around the peninsula along the waterfront is wonderful - the section through the woods can be a bit tough, but can be negotiated with minimal effort. Nice swing on one of the big trees in the center of the field, down near the pond. Also a great place to watch the occasional air shows that are put on at Pease Tradeport!

Just love to go here and let the cares of the world be swept away as I walk along beside the beautiful Great Bay, or meander through the woods and field. There's always a treasure to find washed up on the little rocky beach; be it a shell, bird feather, or an interesting piece of drift wood. There is a bench on one point that, while sitting there, can transport you into another world of calm and peace.

This is a beautiful little hike.....keep the water to your left, and you'll be rewarded with lovely views of Great Bay. Once you get on the trail, you really can't get lost.....park in the "lower lot", go through the trail head, and go straight to the water, then go right.....it's a loop. When you come out, you'll be on the road, then just turn right back to your car.Happily took my Australian shepherd, and she loved it too! The trail is a little up and down, but very easy.

Great place for a walk along boardwalks with views of Great Bay and several geocaches to hunt for as you enjoy the area.

One of the few places that you can see so much of the Great Bay. There are trails along the Bay where you can see wildlife and the ebb and flows of the tides. Good for all sorts of water sports from canoes to paddle boards. Easy to get to and free. Good place to bring a dog for a walk.

This is a great site to launch your kayak for a paddle into Durham or toward Exeter/Stratham. Just be sure to check out the tide chart before you go, and paddle within a couple hours of high tide.
