The parking is overpriced during the summer season - the best time to go here would be late spring or early fall when it isn't so busy. The beach can get crowded mid-summer and spots close by are difficult to find, unless you want to pay $40 for a spot a little ways from the beach. The shops are actually nice and have some interesting finds for reasonable prices. Good ice cream stands, too. However, I really prefer the beaches further north - York and Kennebunk.

Hampton Beach is a pretty, wide beach. Good for families as the water is very calm. Nice quiet atmosphere in October, but if you like a lot of excitement, most businesses are already closed by this time of year.

Nice sandy clean beach with parking and commercial areas not far away. So can lie on the beach for a while, get into the ocean, and grab a drink, snack, lunch not that far away. Can walk the stretch and go by places to stay, shops, eatery's, and drinking establishments. Pretty much has it all.

I am writing this review about the Seafood Festival that was held at Hampton Beach this weekend. the price to get in is a rip off. if you go in all three days it will cost you $18 per person for all three days. The price is crazy. It to bad they have ruined this fun time because they want si much just to get in. It is $5 a person on Friday, 48 per person on Saturday and $5 per person on Sunday. So if you go all three days it is $18 and that is before they try to charge you $2 for a bottle of water. Save your money and stay home it is not worth the price. Oh I forgot it will cost you up to $40 to park also ! I have gone to this for many years but I will not be back. I hope some one from the event reads this but I know they will not care because so many people pay the crazy price to get in.

This is a great beach area and adjoining places to eat and shop. Weather was great in August. It's so busy parking can be an issue at times.

This place was nice with shops and usual spots to eat. Parking is steep at 2$ an hour but pretty open in the end season. Casinos are lackluster so don't really bother with them.

We explored several beaches the area. By far the best one was Hampton North beach, less crowded, easier to park and the beach is perfect.

Hampton is a decent beach, and it was clean the last time I was there. The unfortunate thing is that there aren't any good restaurants in the area. It will do if you don't feel like driving up to Maine. Avoid the tourist trap restaurants in the area.

This is an amazing beach. Nice waves and wide beach. Lots of sand and happening boardwalk. Recommend.

Pay for parking for the day a couple of rows back from the beach. Closer parking requires feeding meters to stay long. Enjoyable beach and busy beach scene along streets crowded with people and shops. A milling, relaxing, beach place.Fireworks some nights but park early because too crowded to drive through and hunt for parking just before event.Seabrook Beach may be favored by locals, but Hampton also good,

If you want to go to a beach while you are near New Hampshire this is the one. It was a super clean beach! It has many cute shops and a ton of food places! You need to eat fried dough while you are there! It is amazing!

The beach side of Hampton Beach is beautiful, clean, and fun. The beach goes on for miles, and you can experience soft sandy beach, or rocky beach where you can step from rock to rock and get as close to the waves as possible. A sand castle competition in June/early July is a really cool attraction, as are the weekly fireworks shows over the water, and the nightly band shows in the beautiful grandstand. There are fairly new bathhouses and facilities in the beach side which are both beautiful and charming. A playground runs one block along the beach. So the beach side- wonderful! Now to the shops side... the word that best sums this side up us "trashy". I've never seen so many inappropriate t-shirts- referencing drugs, sex, nudity, and profanity- and those were the ones for sale! In addition, the folks ambling along the run-down shops and arcades displayed a plethora of tattoos and trashy clothing. I havent seen that many people smoking since i was in Italy. We were there on a Thursday evening, around 7:00, and my 11-year old actually grabbed my hand, he was so freaked out. We drove down the strip two days later, with my older son and husband, and even if we could have found a place to park, none if us wanted to get out and explore the shops. We saw enough from the car. Crumbling sidewalks do nothing to bring that side of the street up. It's a shame, because the other side is so clean and picturesque. There are some less expensive and even free parking areas, but if you want to be right on the beach, lot parking is $20-25 and meter parking is $2 an hour, if you can find a space. Drive up north of the whole boardwalk area and you'll have luck with meter parking, even on the weekend.Above the trashy boardwalk area, the beach is lovely.

Located on the Atlantic Ocean, Ocean Boulevard, the main street along the beach, includes a boardwalk, many shops and businesses, several seasonal hotels, and the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. Surfing, swimming or plain strolling/wading awaits everyone- from babies, tots, kids, teens, moms and dads, grandpas and grandmas, and great grandparents. The drive along US Route 1A is very pretty, winding along the coast past . The New Hampshire seacoast is almost all beach, with some rocky headlands and coves, and four state parks with their own uncommercial stretches of beachHampton Beach main beach provides year-round recreation, with Atlantic ocean-front facilities situatied along miles of sandy beach. The Seashell complex includes a band shell amphitheatre, public information services, comfort station and first aid. Metered parking is available along Ocean Boulevard. There is "sand sculpture" along the beach and fireworks every Wednesday night from 9:30pm.Don't forget to have McDonald's..

Most of my time in this area was stuck in traffic along the strip. Since it is on a peninsula, there was only one road that accessed the strip and traffic was backed up. It might have been more fun if I hadn't have been so frustrated. There were lots of shops and restaurants and an arcade/casino. The beach seemed nice. But if I had it to do all over again, I would have avoided this area.
