lots of different things located here to do..walk the pier, play arcade, window shop.taffy and ice cream the lake is huge nice beach area for a lake water is pretty cold though
We spent a week in August in Weirs Beach. The beach is nice and as it was the last week in August, not very crowded, I can only imagine that during the peak season it would not be good as the beach isn't very large. However, our visit was good, the boardwalk is well kept as is the beach area. Great scenery with the mountains overlooking the lake in the distance.
We have been to Weirs Beach on and off over the years. During the Laconia Motorcycle event mostly when it is an absolute, traffic jammed, zoo. Huge, loud costume party really. Interesting for the real people watcher. But it is in a beautiful place. Very touristy of course but it doesn't claim to be a wilderness.
For such a small area, the Weirs beach is jam packed with fun things to do for that whole family. There are shops, places to eat, fun activities and attractions and all with amazing views of the lake. If you've never been, is a must do for couples, families & even singles.
we've visited the beach a couple times and also done the world record setting attempt for most kayaks (raft a palooza) which was a blast. plan to return next year for that one.
An Awesome place to visit , whether for Bike week or off season. We go every year for bike week and then a few more times off season. Right on the water many many tents with wares to buy and motorcycle equipment. Lots of great restaurants and great entertainment in June for this bike week too.
It was after Labor Day so a lot of the shops and rides were closed, but it was nice to see it once again......a trip down memory lane!
It's a nice walk along the beach and relax a while in the sand. We walked along the railroad tracks and checked out the tourist shops.
Nasty! Used to be a pretty little place - now overpriced parking - beach is nasty and dirty - people are rude. Smells... Need more be said? Honky tonky..... Good place to take a stroll some hot night to get a snack and people watch :O
Another trip to weirs beach. We stopped here for a few days August 17 through the 20th. My husband and my two sons were a little disappointed when we got here and seen signs posted saying no swimming. Hi levels of bacteria in the water. Could cause rash vomiting diarrhea nausea headache or fever!Say no more my family's not going in that water. The two boys love the half-moon arcade. And the huge fried dough. We had a great time. Be back again
Went out to the pier for a beer, way over priced! The arcade was closed during the busiest weeks of the year.
Weirs has changed some over the years, but it is still a good place to take the kids to play some arcade games. A nice place to walk along the boardwalk overlooking the many boats coming in and out of the area.
If you want to re-live your child hood vacations of yesteryear with your own grandchildren, take them to Weir's Beach in the lakes region of New Hampshire. We found a nice quaint motel about a 1/2 mile from the pier and beach called the Bay Top Motel. Nice, clean, quiet place with a small outdoor pool, with a fridge and microwave in the room. Great home base to check out the area with our 5 and 6 year old grandkids for a few days. The original sign welcomes all to a bygone era where family is first, like 50 years ago. The beach is clean and parking is inexpensive for the day. You can stroll the boardwalk and take a train ride on restored 1920's classic Pullman cars. Have a hobo lunch and let the balloon man make awesome animals for the kids. The train takes a leisurely route around Lake Winnepesaukee and after you get back to the station there is also the Mt. Washington cruise around the lake for all to enjoy either day or evening themed cruises. Right across the street from the docks is an old-fashioned boardwalk with shops, arcades and restaurants. The area is reminiscent of the early 1950' s and 1960's when I grew up in New England, where going to the beach with the family was a big treat. Nearby, look up the Wright Museum of WWII memorabilia, an absolutely stunning display of artifacts and information about the years between 1939 to 1945. We showed our grandkids what life was really like for people in that era. Back at the beach, the drive-in shows new movies, nearby is Funspot, the largest arcade in the world. Plan for the weather, and have FUN!
The Weirs Beach is more for children and teens because there are a lot of arcade games but for a couple hanging out, there aren't any nice bars or restaurants around.
I remembered Weirs Beach fondly from childhood so I returned with my family. I don't think they have changed a thing since the eighties. It's too bad they have not invested in the beach or any of the local businesses/sights.
