Drive to the top and bring your binoculars! They give you a paper when you pay to show what cites and things you can see from the tower. Not a hard tower to climb but steep. Port a potty type facilities in the area as well.

For a different hike,, start from Old Street Road on the Cranberry Bog Trail. Nice, easy hike along the stream and through the woods. Nice for walking your dog too. You can connect to Pack Monadnock trail for a long hike. Parking just off the road is free. Beautiful nature walk!

This is a nice spot to visit for hikers, birders, bicyclists, and leaf peepers. Excellent views from the summit and a few spots on the trails up. Summit has a small tower that allows views as far as Boston, or the White Mtns on a clear day. Two main trails to the summit from the state park parking lot are not very difficult and fairly short; there are a variety of trails from other directions including the Wapack Trail extending into MA. I haven't tried it, but the summit road is said to be open to bicyclists if you like your riding STEEP. Apparently riders who attempt the Mt. Washington Bike Race like to train here. Admission/parking/road access was about $2/person (or maybe for 12+?) last time I was there. Nice place to spend a couple of hours on a good weather day.

This is a nice state park with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. You are able to drive to the top of Pack Monadnock, which is great if you are pressed for time or don't want a long hike, but still want great views.

As a member of Audubon Society my family assists with the annual Audubon Raptor Watch/Count. In this event in the Fall and Spring seasons Audubon conducts observations and counting of migrating Raptors (Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawks, Northern Goshawks, American Kestrels, Merlins, Peregrine Falcons and Bald Eagles). Our favorite spot is the raptor Counting location on the top of Pack Monandock in Miller State Park. There is usually an official counter there during the day while the migration count is going on (late sept thru mid Oct). Bird counts as well as spotting instructions are aplenty. Once you get the schooling you will again an increased awareness of the vast migrations these magnificent birds engage in each fall headed to South america and each Spring headed to New England and beyond. While there is a fee to enter the park, the drive or walk to the top is well worth the price of admission. On a clear day views to Mount Washington, to Boston, to Mount Wachusett, to the Connecticut River Valley are spectacular. The walk to the top is great for kids as you ascend from the forest into the clear air on the top. Restrooms are available at the top as well as picnic areas. Bring your own food and drinks.Be sure to bring telescopes and binoculars.in the foliage season, this is the spot to be.

Nice hiking trails. Easy to find markings and the view at the top is very nice too. We usually hike this small mountain a few times before attempting a climb to Mount Monadnock... Great family fun Days

But it was worth it. First I am 65+ years young and not an avid hiker so when I say the hike is a bit more than moderate, it was for me. The blue trail is the easier of the trails and is very well marked. It had recently rained so there were several muddy areas and some pretty steep areas which were slippery. There were no areas where is was too steep to walk up reasonably. Most of the steeper areas had nicely placed rocks for foot holds. Once at the top the view is very nice. We choose to walk back down the road as the slippery areas might have been more difficult to climb down. Worth making a special trip to.

This is a beautiful place to hike up Pack Monadnock, or walk or drive up the auto road. You can get a great view of Boston from the top, and the climb is really very pleasant. Picnic tables at the top make for a nice break.

Great to hike the challenging trails or walk the road. Ride up is also available. Great in fall for foliage, views, and mostly hawk watching.

The was a beautiful so I drove to the top and there, from the fire tower, we could see Boston and all of the surrounding mountains. Lots of hikers, families.

1.5hrs with two 3 yr olds to reach the top and when we made it the view made it soooo worth it!You can see Boston and Manchester NH... I recommend packing a lunch to enjoy when you reach the top.

Really wanted to drive up the summit but the road does not get plowed so we couldn't go. Looks like they close the road during the winter. Saw some what of a view driving home.

It is directly across from Temple Mountain. You can drive up to the summit if you wish, I enjoy the challenge of climbing both trails Both a very challenging but well woth the trip to see the vies and the Raptor Sanctuary that call this place home. Eagles, Hawks, Blue Herons are all very common to see

Fabulous scenic views, especially from the fire tower. Great bird watching - take advantage of the raptor release in October. Good hiking trails to the summit - easy to moderate, but you can also drive to the summit on well maintained auto road.

This beautiful state park is located on a 2290 foot summit in Pack Monadnock in Peterborough, New Hampshire. We took the windy paved road up to the scenic summit rather than the hike but lots of beautiful "smaller" hikes at the summit. The roads are very well paved and the grounds staff was actually blowing the leaves off the road for ease of sight of the drop off. The views from the summit are outstanding - actually can see Boston which is 55 miles (as the crow fly's!
