This is a peaceful, scenic 1 hour train ride through a wildlife preserve. The train ride is affordable for families since they operate on donations only. The train is open air cars, which makes you feel like you are right outside in those beautiful woods! The train operators are friendly and know a lot about the local woods and wildlife. At the point where the train stopped to reverse direction, one man gave a very interesting talk about beavers. My kids loved this ride, we are looking forward to doing it again next fall! There are great historical things to see on the grounds, such as a museum and working model train and a diner where snacks can be purchased (also by donation). Highly recommend this ride for families!

I just needed a little quiet time and this was just the ticket. The train ride is free and donations are accepted. It is about a 40 minute train ride up through some beautiful fall foliage. It was very nice and I highly recommend it

Whio knew that outside of No Conway in the sleepy village of Madison, NH you would find this great treasure. The museum is interesting and the ride terrific and all for the price of a donation.

Looking for a flash back in time for a couple of hours? Check this out. Mello train ride for 55 minutes through the woods. We saw a bear! Not the norm but moose, great blue herons all frequent the route. Afterwards (or before) be sure to check out the museum and diner for self service honor system drinks and ice cream. The train is run on a donation basis on weekends and run hourly. Great way to spend and afternoon.

Wow, if you love history or trains, you should be sure to make a stop at Sliver Lake. This is totally ran by volunteers and donations for the train tickets. They have a beautiful restored diner on site, and a train station museum. If that is not enough, you get to ride up into the hills for a 55 minute trip. Great for adults and kids!

Nice railroad museum. A lot of railroad history, especially for the local area. The train ride is by donation so everyone can enjoy the ride. Give what you can. Donations help keep the museum operational. I believe the entire staff is volunteer, and very knowledgeable. They love trains and the history of it all. There is also a renovated Diner to be visited, if that is something you are not familiar with. It too carries a lot of history. There are snacks available for purchase but not more (chips, ice cream, soft drinks). Bring the whole family and enjoy!

Silver lake Railroad runs on DONATIONS. It is a really nice old train station with a lot of history to offer . The trains and the cars are very well taking care of and fun to ride on. I personally have put some time in to working on the rails to help keep it up to par. Views are nice and the wild life (depending on the day) can be very pleasant. Great for all ages. Good times. You will all love it. And remember Donations is how they keep it going.
