It was early September and they were still having plays in the park. Very fun. There were great places to sit and relax near the water. The people watching was fabulous!
No summer season is complete without a few shows in the park. Bring your chairs, a picnic, and enjoy the show. And there's nothing like seeing a group performing on the staging for whatever summer stock plays that are running. BTW, trust the booking agent - even if you don't know the artists, it will be a quality show. The contribution is voluntary but you should really Put your $8 in the pot.
What a great place to take the kids for a play or music event....There is a minimal recommended entrance fee....I think its $5 a head. But so worth it! Spread your blankets out on the lawn a couple hours before the play or music venue starts and come back after dinner for your spot. Everyone is super friendly and there are good concessions. What can I say.... I love prescott Park!BTW....the apple crisp is not good! Only bad thing I can say :(
This is a great place to enjoy the Portsmouth Sea side with a little entertainment, bring your wine and food and enjoy!
If you visit in August, the park is a wonderland of flowers. Plus there are many outdoor shows and a beautiful waterfront. It is right across the street from Strawberry Banque and from Mombo's, which is one of the best restaurants in Portsmouth.
We eloped to this park and it was incredible. It has a lot to offer with a great background. No one to bother you. It was just magical! I had called ahead to speak with the staff about holding a small ceremony there and they were very accommodating and super friendly!
We were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful Portsmouth was. We enjoyed our walk around the park an watching the bridge go up for the lobster boats.
This is an extremely lovely experience. Each flower bed is clearly marked and the fields of flowers are beyond beautiful. If you are attracted to art, photography, or just want to feel alive it is worth a visit. If you have a camera (smart phone) or a canvas capture the moments. I would think that as the days grow shorter and the flowers disappear the beauty of the waterfront is alluring but getting there when all is in bloom is spectacular.
Great photo opps and nice picnic spots. Like the contiguous walking areas around the harbor, too. So much history to discover here!
A piece of nature in a sweet town. Wonderful to walk around right after a lovely lunch in one of the many restaurants
Beautiful litte park on a beautiful day. Great location to view across the river .Plenty of benches to sit and relax. Watching the ships and tug boats.Fascinating.
This is a neat waterfront park to visit. It's primarily a collection of flower gardens with paths to walk through. It sits right on the waterfront. The flowers gardens are impeccably maintained as is the lawn area surrounding them. If you're in Portsmouth during the summer months, it's well worth the time to stroll over to this place and wander around. In the evening live plays are presented in another area of the park. There is no admission charge although the shows request a donation.
Really enjoyed the nice park and Gundowla tour - nice on a warm day! Doing this during the changing of the leaves season was very pretty - lighthouses are beautiful.
The flowers were still in bloom and so tastefully decorated grounds. We spent at least an hour just walking around and enjoying.
The park provides an enjoyable place to walk, sit, reflect, people watch...mostly a very relaxing spot for along the Piscataqua River. We had stopped at the Chamber of Commerce's information center and was provided with a "walking tour" that included the Park and it was well worth our time to stroll through.
