Buena Vista is a friendly, family-owned ski area with comfortable, affordable options in the ski lodge. However, if you are a seasoned skier, the hills will feel too small. It was a perfect introduction back into downhill skiing after several years for this middle-age mom, however: a nice, easy day on easy little hills.

Year round activities for families. Skiing, snowboarding, tubing etc in winter. Horse riding, wagon rides in the fall. Lumberjack days, concerts,etc.

Downhill skiing is not something you would expect to find in the flatlands around Bemidji, but this is a great little ski center for both downhill and cross country skiing. The Finlandia cross country ski race is held here annually. The main ski hill, though not a mountain or even a very large hill, is actually atop the north/south continental divide that separates the Hudson Bay watershed from the Mississippi Headwaters watershed, so that is pretty cool and worth a view!

If you have kids they will love this place. It is a fairly small hill but has tubing for the little ones! They absolutely love the tubing! And the terrain park is surprisingly good! Don't expect a big hill with a lot of runs ha but it is a nice little ski resort.

Went to Buena vista with our kids, ages 8 & 11 prior to our daughters gymnastics meet in Bemidji. The staff at the facility was top notch and very good with the kids! We have relatively new skiers in the family and BV did not disappoint! Very enjoyable family morning! BV has tubing, skiing and snowboarding. The resort is small, but perfect for families that like to ski together! Chalet is warm and though dated, inviting! While we were there they had a lady playing winter tunes on a piano and of course, the fire was going! Like I said, great family time and great fun!

We are a family of 5- kids 11, 13, 15. We skied 2 days at Buena Vista. We had not been downhill skiing in 8 years. The youngest had a ski lesson with Max. Max was fantastic with him. Max spent extra time with our son and by the time we got the boy back he thought he was a pro. All of the staff was helpful and friendly in the chalet and on the slopes. I liked that all of the runs except the bunny hill have chair lifts. Everything was reasonably priced and in good repair. It was a great way to spend the long weekend with our kids.

Very nice ski area, It has a very good beginners area. Nice slopes; well kept. The chalet is very nice with a "north woods" atmosphere. An interesting and fun place to meet friends and have a good time.

I have brought all 6 children out there and now 3 grandrildren. We love the Dickenson's they run a wonderful family centered ski and tubing recreation area. Bemidji would not be the same without it. Thank you to the Dickenson's for the many smiles you have been responsible for we love your place. We get season passes every year and what a bargin that is. They have good food, wonderful music provided by Muffie Dickenson on the piano and a huge fireplace to warm up by after playing outside now if that isn't like the best of the best, I don't know what is.

Walked up the slopes to get a view of both sides of the Continental Divide, and see all the fall colours. One side all the water flows to the Gulf of Mexico, and the other side flows to Hudson's Bay. At this time of the year the colours are awsome!

Very nice place to go skiing. The best rates for taking the family is on Friday nights. The hills aren't that big but it is a lot of fun to get out and ski close to home. Fun atmosphere.

We tubed on New Years Day this year and had alot of fun. Young and old were able to participate (real little ones not able) and were able to use the lift up the hill. Short rides.

Not the largest or fanciest ski area in Minnesota but this is family run and a great place to spend a weekend.
