winehaven winery and vineyard

Winery is in a beautiful location on a hill overlooking a vineyard. One thing the family does that I love is the many free tastings that they hold. The family members are always present, friendly and very knowledgeable. The wines I love are there are Deer Garden Red, Lakeside Chardonnay and Honey Mead.

We stopped in Sunday, Febr. 8th for a wine tasting. We sampled 8 different wines form their list. All of the wines we sampled ( white, red, and port) were VERY good! Have driven past this vineyard many times, but WILL stop in as it's a NEW favorite!

Being local I have been to this winery and others in the Chisago Lakes area numerous times. While I do like a sweet wine, I have found Winehaven to come in below a couple other wineries for experience and fun factor and wow factor isn't too high either. I do enjoy a visit now and again and love their mulled wine spices, but this isn't my "must" go to winery to take visitors to or to go myself.

Our first visit to this winery. Beautiful from the outside but only slightly under-whelmed on the inside. Concrete floor with folding chairs were not impressive. Staff very knowledgeable and very friendly. We went for their cheese and chocolate event. We assumed that in addition to purchasing wine we would also be able to purchase cheeses and chocolates. Those vendors should have been there. They had samples out but in short supply. They did have one small box of truffles which I purchased in addition to some wines and a couple of other things but had hopes of much, much more.

Very friendly staff and very reasonably priced wine tastings (8 tastings for $5). My favorite was the Pumpkin Wine, served with a cookie... Perfect for the time of year.Great discounts as well... Buy 10 bottles and get 2 free. They have a wine club as well where you can get 4 shipments of your favorite wine, 4x per year plus free tastings and tours.

Great wine!The ice wine is fantastic, Deer Garden is also worth a try.Tasting will cost a bit but is well worth it.

We loved Winehaven! Compared to other wineries in that area, this was the best. The tasting was half the price of the other wineries and the person giving us our tasting was much more friendly and knowledgeable. The setting was gorgeous; after our tasting we bought a glass and sat on the patio looking out over the vineyard. We talked with the owner as he rang up our purchases and he couldn't have been more gracious and friendly. The Chardonnay was excellent and although I'm not usually a fan of dessert wines, we bought some of those here as well.

Enjoyed the many samples at this beautiful small winery. My wife loved the white Frontenac Gris & bought a bottle for us. It is almost empty! Very lively place!

No winery tour, no free wine taste and limited items in gift shop. You could test taste wines, but there was a cost. Items displayed in the gift shop that I liked were not for sale

Wow, not only does this winery have my favorite wines, it also has a beautiful establishment that is very modern/contemporary. The staff seemed to be family members very friendly and welcoming. The entire staff was very informative about each wine.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The workers are knowledgable and friendly. The wine is to die for, I love that they have a wine specific to Chisago City, love to try new flavors. Went there for Christmas gifts and found this amazing mix of red wine and mulling spices they had as a sample....Oh my god was it incredible. I ended up buying three bottles of that as gifts. Then, I went to buy just a normal bottle for a girlfriend and they had buy 4 get one free...well with all the flavors I couldn't resist! Would definitely recommend a visit here. It is a great assett to our county and a fun time!!!

We had a great tour of the vineyard, given by one of the owners. His pride and love of the vineyard was very evident, especially when talking about the grape that they developed that is grown nowhere else (Deer Garden Red - Chisago). We tasted almost all their wines (even some new wine straight from the cask). They definitely know what they are doing and have won many awards. Such a great thing to have good wine and vineyards in Minnesota! The gift shop offers fun wine, honey and other food items, as well. A very enjoyable time!

We stopped in to Winehaven on a whim this Saturday and wow, were we ever pleasantly surprised! They having a free tasting and tour so we thought to pop in for a bit.... we ended up leaving with 1/2 a dozen bottles of wine! They had just tapped a merlot barrel and offered free tastings of their entire selection (approximately 15-20 types of wine) in addition to the merlot. The facility is spacious and less than a year old, and the tasting staff was amazing! They were all extremely friendly, knowledgable and passionate about the products they were selling and sampling. We had a blast and are planning to return soon.

New Vintage Days was our first visit to WineHaven. We were pleasantly surprised with the wine tasting and found many that we really enjoyed!

The new tasting room is gorgeous and overlooks the lake. This winery has been producing good wines for quite a few years and continuously improves the quality of MN grapes and blends. A great stop on your tour of Minnesota wine country!
