If you have a free afternoon or evening while in town, make a stop by here. Staff is very knowledgeable, and friendly with the variety of beer that they serve.
I have hosted two fundraisers at the Mankato Brewery and the owners couldn't of been more accommodating or helpful. They have tables, chairs, a pool table, large Jenga game and a speaker system for your ipod to play music. Beer was spectacular as well!!! Would definitely go back!
we stopped in after a day of hiking in Minneopa park. guy pouring the tastings (sorry, his name escapes me at the moment) was really friendly and knowledgeable; not to mention enthusiastic. we sampled their whole fall lineup and liked several of them. I'm a malty stout drinking person. they had a mint stout that was pretty good, and then they had it on tap with nitrous gas. YUM!! he told us what it does for the beer, and he was right. wound up buying a really cool insulated growler, and had them fill it with the stout. they have a nice area for sitting and having a beer. looks like they have bands play in there too. plus they have a large area for group outings. definitely worth a stop.
We had tried their Organ Grinder Amber at Lone Star BBQ in St. Peter, Minnesota so we wanted to visit the facility and taste their other products. They have a sample tray with glasses for 4 beers . . . and they have 3 varieties of 'hoppy' beers and one dark beer so we tried all of them. A 'hophead' or an IPA fan would be a very happy guy. Our favorite remains the Organ Grinder Amber. Price was $6 or $7 for the sampler which was fair and their bartender gave us detail on all four beers.
An interesting mix of beers. Some with a higher IBM than I prefer but yummy nevertheless. Fun place with a shop of nice gear, and an open brewer with tours. Fun!
These guys are really making some good beer! It's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Tours, tastings, buy growlers. If you like craft beer you will want to stop here! If you want something to eat, there are several close places that will deliver.
I love this place! Don't expect anything fancy, it is a brewery not a restaurant. I would consider myself a pretty picky beer drinker. I love all the beers but especially love their Haymaker IPA! I think they are also in the process of building a patio area.
We took the tour which was short but interesting and informative. we really enjoyed the seasonal leaf raker beer - a nut brown ale. The samples were generous and enjoyable. When the brewery is open you can come right in and have a beer sitting amongst the brewing tanks. A fun place to visit!
A fun little brewery with tours and generous samples. They also host events in their brewery. They have parties with live bands, theatrical performances and make a showing at many local festivals in the area. Very hospitable and friendly staff. They continue to make a variety of beers with some limited time brews.
We were lucky enough to have a meeting hosted here for work in June. When we walked in I was in awe at how neat it was to be right there on the bottling floor seeing all of the big tanks and fermenters and watching the beer being bottled right in front of our eyes. Our meeting was held in the back room which was slightly noisy when they were bottling but it was just part of holding a meeting in a brewery. After our meeting the owner (or co-owner?) gave us a tour. I didn't know too much about beer and he really enlightened me and got me interested. He explained many of the brewery's future plans which included adding more fermenters and an outdoor seating area. He also explained that the brewery was open a couple days a week where people could come in and buy beers from the tap room and just hang out inside of the brewery. They had a few games and tables set up on the inside. He also said they liked to host private events and parties and they also do tours one day a week (Saturday I believe). After the tour we were able to sample some of the beers in the tap room (of course, what is a brewery visit without the samples?). And yes they were amazing. I think this place is great for hosting a small event. I wish I would have known about this place when we were trying to book a venue for our grooms dinner last year! I think it would also be neat to check out during the times that they are open to buy a beer and just hang out.
We stopped for a tour of Mankato Brewery yesterday. The tour was very informative, but not at all overdone with too much detail. The tour included four generous samples! Our fav was the #1 brew. Nice variety of locally crafted beers.
We went with a small group of friend and tasted both beers had a great time and learned alot from the brewmaster. We will go back it was Fun!
This is where good beer comes to be made. There are two beers - Mankato Original, a light colored beer; and Stickum, a darker heavier malt beer. Both are excellent. Here you can get your growler's filled. It's worth taking a tour of the place. The partners are passionate about what they do and will take the time to explain it all. The plant is a little hard to find so you'll need to Google Map the location.
