The good thing about this Anamosa museum is that it is literally has the best collection of motorcycles I've ever seen, and I've been to a lot of places. The bad thing about this museum is that it badly lacks any explanation for the motorcycles it exhibits; so you literally can wind up strolling a huge hall filled with hundreds of odd-looking motorcycles wondering what the hell those things were. They badly need to expand and to write more annotations.

Had a great time. Got to say Hi to Jonn Parham as he was packing up for Davenport. Definitely would go back to suck in more history! From all the amazing displays! Thx John Parham! We stayed at the AmericInn. Nice! :)

The National Motorcycle Museum is a place that should not be missed. My wife and I spent over 4 hours there and I plan on returning. The museum features many historic and important motorcycles and displays. The folks running the museum are extremely friendly and helpful. The price of admission is cheap for what is provided.

About 45 minutes northeast of Cedar Rapids is the National Motorcycle Museum. We spent about 1 hour in the museum and, even though we aren't motorcycle enthusiasts, we found it to be pretty interesting. You'll be able to see how the motorcycle has evolved over the years, and there's definitely more of an emphasis on American motorcycles over their Japanese counterparts. There is also a nice section on Evil Knievel.

You gotta see this place if you love motorcycles! What a treat! Carol in the gift shop was so sweet and helpful... I would highly recommend a stop here.

We detoured through Anamosa so my husband could "check out" the bikes. The kids enjoyed the bikes - and learned a little as well from the excellent informative displays. We only had a short time available and if you are an affecionado you should set aside at least 2 hours. My husband was impressed by the huge collection of bikes - some on 'loan' from private collectors, but was disappointed to discover that the Von Dutch bike was not on display. The friendly staff said that the owner had taken it back from loan and that we could view it at Le Clare. While they didn't seem disappointed about it my husband certainly was and raved on about how the bike should be on display at the museum where it belongs - not in some private display. Given a chance I think he could have spent a full day there.

If you have the time and like vintage motorcycles, check it out. Some really cool bikes but some ordinary bikes there. Nice collection overall with good descriptions.

This place is unbelievable. If you are a biker, this is the closest to heaven to will get while on earth. If you are not a biker, there is so much history being told here that you will get lost in all there is to learn. Plan on several hours, lots of pictures, and eye pain with all there is to see that will cause your eyes to pop, jaw pain from the number times your jaw will drop in awe, and cramps with all the smiling you will do as you try to look at everything that brings back memories. We were there a few all to short hours and could use several days to see it all and I'm not sure we would see it all. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet and understanding. My biggest problem was that there were several bikes I wanted to take home - and I don't ride.

Cheap and very cool. Tons of motorcycles, relics, and toys to look at could have probably spent the day there. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This place is "all things motorcycle" displayed in a top-shelf manner. Our Sept. 2014 visit to this museum (as we passed thru Iowa) was the 3rd time I was there - and this visit was just as good as the first. Friendly staff, reasonable entrance fee, an outstanding collection with excellent display signs. The changing exhibits at the museum are appreciated - and it looks like they could again use larger display space for their expanding collection. The nearby restaurant options are handy, as is the motorcycle-only parking area. A nod of the helmet goes to to this museum and the staff. I'll be back for visit #4 in 2015.

This was my second visit to this fine museum. For a motorcycle person like myself, it's one of the rooms in heaven, maybe second only to the Barber museum in Alabama. The collection is very comprehensive and the bikes appear to be well maintained. My biggest complaint is how photo unfriendly the layout and lighting is. Clearly, they've outgrown their space and many bikes are crammed together while other exhibits take up much more space than necessary, like the flat track display. The lighting is poorly distributed and I needed to use the flashlight app on my phone to see some features of the bikes. The crowding makes taking photos of individual bikes very difficult. And yet, as you watch one of the hilarious cheesy motorcycle movies on a flat screen you're looking directly into two spots on overhead track lighting. What's up with that? My point is that this great museum could become even better and more user friendly with a little more work.

This is an incredible collection that goes on forever. I've seen motorcycle museums all over the country and this is a true cross the board collection that is impressive. From Rat Fink to Captain America this is an overwhelming collection of motorcycles and related collections. Well worth a vacation destination.

From the outside you would never know this museum houses a huge collection of motorcycles, advertising, pop-art, videos and pictures all about motorcycles. The motorcycles are accessible to view from all sides so you can up close and personal to them. We spent almost three hours there and we not motorcyclists.

This is a great stop for all motorcycle enthusiasts young and old. They have motorcycles and memorabilia from every era and segment of motorcycling history. We only had about two hours to spend here and that was not enough. I wish we would have had more time.
