Great place to take the kids. They have a lot of things to interact with. They will spend hours there.
This museum has wonderful hands-on fun for all ages, and has added new permanent and traveling exhibits.
My children enjoyed this place when we visited the area when they were younger but age 10 is where the magic wears thin. If older preschoolers are involved it is great.
Wonderful experience. Great fun. Different exhibits to occupy the children. Prices reasonable. Items were kept off floor by staff. Make sure you visit this childrens museum. Picnic area outside so bring your lunches and let the kids play on the outdoor play area.
This museum is hours of fun for young children. It is reasonably priced and keeps them busy having fun! My kids really had a great time !
Wasn't too impressed with the lady working the front desk, she didn't seem like she wanted to even be there and a few workers cleaning up after the kids were doing nothing but complaining. Besides that, the kids had a great time! Plenty to keep them busy for hours! They never got bored, and we stayed until they closed!
We're from Chicago and have experience with 2 of our children's museums and we thought this one was great. It was not crowded when we visited on a Friday afternoon and had a really unique outdoor play area. We also thought the indoor displays like the bridge and farm stuff was fun. I would recommend this place if you have children under 7.
This was our first time going and I was nervous about what to expect. We had 2 girls under 7 yrs old and they ran around this place like wild children. The building is bigger then the part we was in, but the kids didn't even notice. We went on Good Friday so some things were not going on, but the main area for the kids was open. The girls fell asleep before we left the area, they played so hard.
This is our second year as members of Bettendorf's Family Museum. For $80, we get unlimited access the museum for a year as well as guest passes for Grandma and Grandpa when they come to visit. There are a number of fun drop in classes, such as science workshop, clay studio, and music in motion which are also included in the price of membership. There are interesting art projects to do every day and the outdoor play equipment is just as much fun as the indoor displays. The best time to visit is 3:00-5:00 PM during the school year.
Great museum with lots for kids to do. Very clean and organized. Reasonable admission price. Has something for many ages. Lots of hands on activities as well. Kids seem to really have a blast!
Awesome!!! Kids had so much fun running around and pretend playing in the grocery store, post office, firehouse, ice cream stand, shoe store n etc. There was so much to do! We stayed there for a good portion of the day. It was super busy at first but around lunch time it died down and was a little more peaceful. My kids wanted to go back the next day!!
WOW! What a fun and interactive place for the family to come!!! We went here during a vacation and my son who is 2 absolutely loved this place. So many different interactive, educational oh yeah and FUN exhibits!!! We hit every exhibit in about 2 hours but if you have older kids that have a little longer attention span then a 2 year old you can make a day of it. The outdoor section was very nice with a playground, water area, garden, sidewalk chalk section and a few other things. Picnic benches for you to sit at not sure if you could eat outside I know you couldn’t inside. The inside was awesome too! I even had fun with some of the exhibits and watching my little guy smiling and running around made my day! There is a neat little water exhibit inside they have water gowns to put on but it might be wise to bring a second set of cloths depending on how intense your kid gets with the water. There was a town that included a shoe shop, post office, fire station, a house, a pizza place, ice cream stand, vet and a grocery store. There is a farm that you can take produce and other things from and deliver to the store. They had a storybook section that had some pretty neat stories you can read/interact with. Of course what children’s/family museum is complete without a music section to make lots of noise with. For $7 a person (under 2 free) and being able to come back the entire day!!!!! Well worth the money if you live out here or on vacation with your family it is a must to come and see. There is more stuff to do as well I just can’t remember it all!!!
We recently went to the museum and had a great time, there was so much to do and the adults had as much fun as my granddaughter who is 19 months did. She was a little young to do some of the activities but could do others and had a good time playing in the water, tree house, fire truck. It was a little hot outside to play on the outdoor equipment and we didn't want her to play in the water activities. We will go again when she gets a little older and she can enjoy more of the activities.
I really enjoyed how the layout of this place is a town with different areas all in one large space. There were so many kids on Memorial Day weekend Saturday that they sort of organized themselves into a little community. The kids seemed to stay in there self-assumed jobs. There was a cashier in the grocery store, the pizza delivery kid and my son, the mail carrier, among others. The kids just kept staying in there own jobs and sinking deeper into this intricate fantasy. It was a bit surreal but also much more interesting for me to watch than the typical children's museum experience. I felt like a sociologist.
This is the nicest small town main street that I have ever seen. We ate at the a cute café, and visited the American Pickers shop that is located in this town. There is also a two day ferryboat trip available at the Buffalo Bill Museum! We are sorry we missed these but were pressed for time and had to leave to make a flight.
