This casino has everything you would want in a casino. Terrific variety in slots & table games. Very prompt service from Hosts, Slot Attendants, Beveridge Servers and Staff in general. The Total Rewards Center has knowledgeable & courteous staff with very expedited service. The restrooms are extremely clean. There is also a sports center where you can watch your favorite team play on one of the huge television screens while sipping on your favorite Beveridge all the while playing a video game. In general this is a great casino to go to!
We come to harrahs for the $5 blackjack tables, which aren't offered all the time. Generally, you can find some earlier in the day. We came here on a Sunday morning and had no trouble finding seats. The dealers were great, which made the experience even more fun :)
I think WinnaVegas is bigger. This was just OK as far as machine selections. We had a room here, too. (see that review) It was nice to take the shuttle to the Horseshoe for a couple hours. Shuttle driver was friendly, informative and a cautious driver. Security was friendly and helpful. Cashiers answered questions but were not overly friendly. Coffee was good and strong, but isn't is always on a casino floor? This casino was ok but I may have had too high of expectations.
Visited during the week of Christmas. Harrahs had only 2 valet attendants scheduled (poor management) on the night of my arrival (23 Dec 2014 and through 26 Dec 2014) and boy it was COLD! Waited for more than 35 minutes to retrieve the car the next night but the waiting area was warmed by heaters. The poor guys working hustled to get the job done but it was a lot of visitors visiting for both the casino and hotel.I discovered it's better to park in Harrahs well lit security monitored parking garage (east side of building). BEAUTIFUL day and night view of Missouri River and Omaha, NE skyline (see pictures). The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Really enchanting for the kiddos and adults alike. The large well-lit Christmas Tree with glittery tinsel, gifts underneath and overhead lighting was spectacular! The children, "ooohed" and "ahhhed" when they walked in the door. The rooms are large, well lit and comfy with HD TV and a variety of cable channels. Love the refrigerator, design comforters and the ability to adjust your own thermostat. For a better view ask for a room on the higher floor facing north (Omaha, NE side). The amenities are lacking. NO free local calling (bring a cell phone) and NO internet (WiFi) in the hotel rooms. There is free WiFi access in the lobby and Business Center (although only 1 of the 2 computers supplied worked). Make sure you bring your own bottled water (or get some from the Casino floor for free) because the large bottle of water in the room will cost you. Also, make sure you ask for lotion because Housekeeping will not automatically supply it if you do not ask. The rooms are also set up with (2) two pricey bottles of wine (open at your own discretion). The Casino floor is MUCH smaller now and really SMOKE FILLED (bad for the sinuses). There is a pretty nice new selection of video slots and great gaming tables. The payout for the casino is really low (83.9%??) but if you hit, YES! The Total Rewards program is EXCELLENT and worth joining!! To name a few: Harrahs gives you 2 Free Nights Stay for the month (room deposit went from $20 per night to $100 starting Jan 2015); they have Free Downloadable Slot Play monies (you do not have to use it all on one game) for each week of the month; up to 10X multipliers, vacation drawings and don't forget the Dine With Us For 1/2 Off coupon (any restaurant and up to $250 per table) - Excellent Buffet and Diner food selections (both reasonably priced) and delicious.Word of advice...it takes Harrahs (Caesars Entertainment) FOREVER to release your room deposit monies (now $100). They'll say it's your bank but the front desk runs it through a credit card machine and it's their company who manages it at fault (I did the homework). All and all...not too bad. I give it "One & 1/2 Thumbs Up. NO Pinkie!"
I'm traveling next weekend I hope this would be an exited trip I'm taking my brother for his 24th birthday let's see how Harrahs council bluff treat us
Harrahs is a decent casino...frustrated that they mail me coupons for food and then make it so confusing they won't honor them. Had a couple issues with bedding. Not good!! Have been to nicer casinos!
love the hotel but the game selection is way more appealing at horseshoe and ameristar and to be honest as of late my diamond status doesn't seem to matter so much as it used to, don't feel near as special as i used to.
Very nice Casino with a great inexpensive grill - Back Stage Grill. Good food in the Grill. Friendly hosts and hostesses/
Hi trips080,Thank you for frequenting our property. I'm sorry to hear your opinion of our property has changed. Our buffet's prices have fluctuated slightly over the year, but that is of course due to the higher prices of the food industry. We do our best to keep the prices as low as possible. Plus, if you are a Total Rewards Member you receive discounted rates at our food outlets. Our top level chefs make sure the quality of our food products are top notch and preparred to match. In regards to the machines, our limits are very competitive with other casinos. We actually paid out over $1,000,000 in jackpots last week. Unfortunately, we do not have live entertainment on our Harrah's property. We do sometimes hire local and regional bands to perform in our Stir Live & Loud bar though. Additionally, our Stir Cove concert venue brings in some of the most sought after talent in the industry. Hopefulyl you will reconsider visiting us again in the future.Best,-Andy
Hi Penelope, Thank you for providing your feedback. We are very sorrry your visit was not to the standard that we want our guests to experience. We train all or our employees to personalize every guests experience and make sure to provide the best possible customer service. I can assure you we will pass your comments along to our staff to make sure this type of service is avoided in the future. Thanks again for your feedback. We do hope you will choose to visit us again in the future. Best,-Andy
Hi Rick B,Thank you so much for visitng us! We are really excited to hear of your pleasant experience! We train our staff members to treat every guest with respect andcourtesy. We want our guests to have a very personable and friendly experience. Hopefully we will see you sometime soon! Best,-Andy
Hi sunlvr49,Thank you for choosing Harrah's to stay at. We are sorry to hear your experience was not satisfactory. While our casino is small, we do have over 240 machines and over 2o table games. Plus, we just added our brand new TAG Lounge that offers more than 28 cutting–edge interactive electronic games.Including electronic craps and roulette. We do offer a fair and competitve payout compared to other casinos. We have actually paid out over $1.5 million in jackpots year to date. We are glad you enjoyed the food at our Backstage Grill! Yes, Troy (Elvis) is one of our rockstar employees! He always makes sure every guest feels welcomed! Thanks agian for staying with us, and please let us know when you would like to come back for another visit. We would be happy to have you.Best,-Andy
I grew up in area and find that Caesars Entertainment Harrahs and Horseshoe keeps offering poorer and poorer customer service. I have been going to all the casinos including the IndianCasinos north of Council Bluffs. I am embarressed continually trying to explain to out-of-townersthe policies and the new Tier Rewards System. I always tell them names of other restaurants and activities in the Omaha-Council Bluffs area give you a better dining experience than the casino. You can get better, cleaner hotels rooms within 5 miles with complete shuttle-service.The Hosts and Hostesses' are rude! If you ask them to talk to their manager- your request falls on deaf-ears. . I read the responsies of the managers of these casinos and all they offer is -LIP SERVICE.They tout that this is the Las Vegas of the Midwest!!!! Never Happen!!!!!
Hi Marbar88,Were you able to make it to Harrah's? If so, we would love to hear of your experience! Best,Andy
Hi Jamie290,We're really sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience. I was curious, did you stay at Harrah's Council Bluffs? I ask that because we do not have a conceirge service or anyone on our property by the name of Robert. Would you please verify so I can be sure to reach out to the appropriate parties? If you did have this kind of an experience on our properties, I want to be sure to rectify the situation so future guests do not have the same experience. Thank you-Andy
