We visited on a Monday night, which was fairly quiet (we were one of three occupied tables). From what I understand, this restaurant can be very busy on weekends. After visiting here, we certainly understand why! The decor is casual farm-chic. The walls are painted a soft sage green above stained bead-board paneling, and the ceiling is adorned with various farm tools and implements. As residents of Atlanta, the decor is typical of what we see in many hipster restaurants in town. There is a bar, which we did not visit, in the back of the restaurant space. We did order alcoholic drinks, and they were wonderful. Our server was unfamiliar with one of the beverages we ordered, but we told him the ingredients and the bartender interpreted them quite well.We were told by our server that the owner/chef had spent time in the restaurants of New York, and it shows! While the food is fairly typical with what you see in small-town Iowa (burgers, tenderloins, etc), it is varied and had some fun twists- a burger with ham and swiss cheese, a salad with fresh fajita-style beef and crisp peppers and onions. The special the night we visited was a French Dip, which one of our party ordered, and it, too, was delicious. The produce and the beef were incredibly fresh, and we appreciated the chef's interpretation of menu items. Our server, whose name I did not get, was attentive and fun. He was quick to suggest menu items, refill drinks, and take care of our every need. This is a great restaurant... We will be back the next time we are in town!
It's a great place.....especially if you like tenderloins. They are HUGE!!! Both food and service are AWESOME!
