The newly renovated McEuen Park is absolutely beautifully! The polished walkways and interesting art decor make the park really shine, especially during a summertime evening walk. The basketball courts are very nicely done, and the kids water park is a great addition. The grassy areas are very lush and soft. Perfect for picnics and relaxing on hot days.
I really like what the City of CDA has done with McEuen Park. The area used to be just baseball fields, a boat launch and parking. Now, there’s pedestrian over passes above the parking area. The kid’s play set is modern, large and inviting. There’s a band shell for concerts, as well as tennis and basketball courts.Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of extensive use of concrete in parks. However, given the drainage from Tubbs Hill, it was necessary to keep the view point and bathroom areas free from becoming a seasonal mud flat (as they had been in the past). The concrete is well placed and despite occupying a large amount of space actually enhance, rather than detract from, the overall look of the park.Yea for another set of (much needed) public bathrooms, in downtown CDA!Well done, CDA. You ROCK!
The politicians ruined the best feature of this park, the baseball field. The parking is improved and the kids' play area is improved. However the space where the old ball field was is vacant and useless. Why not rebuild the ball field.. Many legion players remember the unique backdrop of the lake and its breeze in the afternoon. Hitting a home run onto Tubbs hill. What has happened to our national pastime?
Take time out to go see the new Park. It's worth your while. There is underground parking there and it's steps from the Resort located on Lake Coeurd'Alene and right by all shops and restaurants.
watching my three year old play at this park was so much fun. She ran and laughed for an hour! Nicely landscaped and great toys
This is a great place for the whole family, from toys for the kids to basketball courts to open fields - it is awesome. Trails are close by as well as the lake and the Resort. Shops are close for espresso or a meal. A perfect place on a nice day to take the family and have a blast. We go here every time - I'm 63 and love it and my grandkids never want to leave.
Very nice park right by downtown Coeur D'Alene & the lake. Recently updated with lots of open space bike paths & jungle-gym equipment for small kids. Located beside the trailhead to Tubbs Hill & the Coeur D'Alene Resort. Definitely worth a quick visit if you're in town.
Good vantage point of lake. Clean, new, open and spacious. Lots of free parking. Little windy and chilly but that's expected in November!
This park packs a lot of activities into a small space, yet you never feel crowded. The kids playground has fake grass underneath, so no wood chip/pea gravel mess. There is a splash pad in the summer. There is a dog park, walking paths, tennis courts, basketball, and lots more. The location is great, next to the library, the lake, shopping, Tubbs Hill, and restaurants.
The playground offers a fun place for kids to blow off some steam! The play structure is large and has nice seating for parents.
We have only lived in Coeur d' Alene for two years but were so proud to see this small resort town build such a beautiful park. It has so much for families. A great playground with water features, tennis, basketball courts, lots of picnic room, an area for concerts and refreshments. What a wonderful addition to the city.
What a quaint park. It has been redone very nicely. It is set up so that you can have a quiet picnic or a full family and/or friends outing. It looks like it has something for everybody.
This park is really nice, lots of grass, huge play area for the grandchildren, decent restrooms, and a nice walking path in and around it. It is close to the beach, so in the summer, lots of water access
Before we took a walk in this lovely park, we got an overview of it from the balcony of the new city library. The trees of the park are beautiful and varied. There is a bakery nearby across Front St. where you can buy snacks for your rest break in the park.
The city spent millions on this and waisted the money. Now it iw all but impossible to launch your boat at the city launch. Parking for the boat launch is quite a distance away.
