I love the Bottle & Cork so much. They have the best live bands. The way they put on a show is like you are at a rock concert. Summer JAM is one of my favorite things and one of the best events I have ever been to. Drinks are great, especially, the crush drinks! I also like drinking beer out of a can and then smashing the can with my foot on the floor! Ah, the simple things in life.Always a great time!!
I was looking for somewhere to go with a buddy to enjoy a night out, and was referred to this as one of the places to go. Our plan was to go here as well as possibly a couple others, but once we stopped in, we never ended up leaving! They booked some great cover bands! Some helpful thoughts..... bring cash, it is a cash bar. Also, bars in Delaware close at 1AM. Lame, but just be ready for things to shut down then. The floor had smashed cans and plastic cups already, so I would also tell you to NOT wear flip flops. Lots of people aged young-20's to mid-30's, so that was a good mix. Great time though!
Used to love the bottle and cork in Dewey!! had much better bands and was a cool place to go when in Dewey!! Has not been much investment in the bands not the place.......it is a has been....greatest rock n roll bar in the world......aah.......maybe on that block.......some fun but not that fun....Went to see the fabulous grease and last week.......they were not fabulous like the used to be.....and neither is the bottle n cork.....A couple of redeeming factors....they had jello shooters and make some good crushies
We went to the Bottle and Cork to see Kellie Pickler. The show was great. The staff opened the doors and 8:05 pm. We were in the front row. This place is fun and a great fairly inexpensive way to see up and coming singers or bands. They usually have 1-2 Country Singers come each summer. The only negative for this place I would ever give it the show times. We have been to 3 shows here and they do the same thing every time. The show is supposed to start at 9, which is what is says on the tickets. The show started around 9:45 and that was Amy Wilcox, the Opening act. Kellie didn't take the stage until after 10:30 pm and the show ended after Midnight. I heard from several people, the Bottle and Cork does this on purpose so they can keep patrons as close to 1 am when the bar closes. So if you don't mind watching from the back, come later. My wife and I had to stand a total of 5 hours that night, on concrete. Our feet and backs were killing us when it was all said and done. This is a fun place and you should check it out if there is someone playing there you like. Just remember to drink some water, use the bathroom and dress for hot weather. (Its always hot in there). There were several people that passed out from heat issues before Kellie ever took the stage. Enjoy!
Bought tickets for Kellie Pickler as part of my wife's anniversary gift on 7/25/13. First, I understand what the normal is for the B&C, no frills just music and drinks. Show was to start at 9:00 PM. 9:30 a back up band came on stage and well we just waited for Kellie Pickler. Kellie Pickler at 10:30 PM finally took the stage. By this time most people were incredibly drunk and stumbling everywhere even trying to hang on to me to stand. When Kellie Pickler started singing we heard the band but it was like her mic. was off, couldnt hear a word from her. Strange since the back up band sound was just fine. After 4 songs we along with many others ended up leaving.
Bouncers are over bering, they rather through you out then listen to you. If I ran my business this way I would be on welfare. I will never go back no matter what venue they have, they don't care about you!!!!!!
This is a great place to see both local and national acts! The sounds great and the crowds are fun. An awesome place to see major national acts - they do get some great ones from time to time!!
Gets pretty high-profile acts from time to time. Dewey is not my favorite place in the world, but it's definitely a good place to go to party with friends or relax on the beach.
Really the only place to go along this section of coast to hear good live music. Have been a number of times over the years and the place is consistently good. Good natured crowd and a good range of music. Will be back if I visit the beach next year.
Great place to see band.. good sound system and good stage. Nice indoor outdoor bar.. got to do when in town
Good music, great rock and roll bar! Different events every night. You stand you drink you rock out at the beach!
My husband and I went to the Bottle & Cork for the 1st time in August of 2007. I had heard that Bucky Covington was going to be performing there. I stopped at the Bottle & Cork on 7-29-07 and purchased two tickets to see the live performace at the Bottle & Cork "A Rock and Roll Bar". It only cost me $30.00 for the two tickets. We arrived at the show about 1 hour before the scheduled performance in order to park and get in line to be admitted. We found out that it cost us $10.00 to park in their lot when we arrived. We were not told previously that we would have pay to park. So, we reluctantly paid the parking fee. Once we got in line, we were admitted pretty quickly. Our tickets were taken from us at time of admission. We were not give any kind of ticket stub (for my scrap book). But, I believe our hands were stamped at that time.Once we were inside, I made my way up to the front of the "room" in front of the stage. There are no viewing seats in this venue. You have to stand in place, so 1st come gets the closest spot. I stood in my spot for the remainder of the evening. They do have a bar at the back of the room...where you can purchase alcoholic beverages. And they had a table set up near the stage for souvenir purchases. I was impressed with the accurate scheduling of the venue. Right on time, the opening act began to play!! lower case blues was the opening band. They played their guitars and "sang" for about an hour and then it was time for the headlline act. Bucky's performance was good that evening and the small venue made it extremely enjoyable. Being right up front, I got to lean on the stage that they were performing on. I got great UP CLOSE photos of Bucky, Rocky & the band. Also, I got to shake hands with Bucky while he was on stage. And I got a drumstick and towel from Rocky & the band. This probably would NOT have been possible IF I had gone to a large venue. Plus the sound was amazing for such a small place. After the concert, we stayed to meet & talk with the band. We were able to talk to them as they broke down their equipment. However, Bucky did disappear to his tour bus that was parked out back. Eventually we did get to meet with him too and get autographs. This was definately one advantage of the small venue. Overall, I had a great experience at the Bottle & Cork. It is kind of a "redneck" bar, but it is totally Rock & Roll. Even with a country band playing---it had a rock & roll vibe. I do not think they chose the right opening act for a country band, but other than that--we had a wonderful time. The small venue really made it an enjoyable experience. I have been to other concerts in larger fancier arenas & have not has as much fun. I really like the down home atmosphere--laid back and lots of fun! The venue always has different kinds of bands--some are regulars, some are older bands and some are bands on their way up. So, you can catch some of your old favorites here in addition to some local bands!! Over the past 5-6 years--they have had performers like James, Otto, Gavin Degraw, Soul Asylum, Pat McGee, Live, Pat Green, Bucky Covington, Miranda Lambert, Dwight Yoakam, Vanilla Ice, Blondie, Better than Ezra, Cyndi Lauper, Foreigner and Ziggy Marley. So, you never know who will show up at the Bottle & Cork!! I like to keep checking back to see WHO will be there. You can't beat the price OR the atmosphere.
