basically you have no choice but to take the shuttle since it's a really small park, so make sure you know where to get on and off the bus. Schedule printed on the newspaper when entering the park, don't miss it if close to evening.
Try and get into the park when it opens up so you can park close and catch the shuttle. Otherwise, you might have to park outside the park and take a bus in or walk it. There are shuttles running about 10-15 minutes and get very crowded. Not a major fan of the shuttle but understand why the park is using it. Prefer driving our own car in the parks because of handicap issue, but the scenery is breathtaking and wildlife is all around you. If you make it to the final stop, the river walk is on a smooth path and at the very end you either turn around and walk back or you can wade up the river as far as you can go. The water is cold and you should have a walking stick and good sturdy water shoes, the rock bottom is uneven and slippery. Some sections are only ankle deep, some knee deep and some almost thigh deep. Watch the people in front of you and follow them. You can get some great pictures wading up the river. Once in a life time thrill.
The ONLY way into the park during the peak season (unless you stay at the lodge). Frequent buses so easy on and off. They can get a bit stuffy, so slide open a window for fresh air.
Took a few passes to get a parking space, but once that was done we headed for the shuttle. We headed for the final stop and then made our way back. Weeping rock was a particularly welcome stop off on such a hot day! The shuttle is a useful way of getting an overview of the park, although when busy we sometimes struggled a little to hear the commentary over the chatter of other passengers. But a good way to lessen the impact of vehicle traffic on the park.
This shuttle is a brilliant addition to a beautiful and well visited park. It allows you to travel deep into the main canyon without taking your vehicle. It runs regularly and the many stops allows you to explore the trails and viewpoints.
so easy to get around Zion on the shuttle bus; interesting commentary; comfortable and hop on hop all day. Parking lots so busy don't even think about bringing in your vehicle
Why drive and look for a place to park when you can take the free park shuttle? It's convenient, it's included in the cost of park admission, and it's reliable and consistent.
This is brilliant. Keeps the entire park free of traffic, provides visitors with a number of options for stops, hikes, sights and the opportunity to see a lot of this beautiful park.
Let them do the driving and save time as they drop you off at the start of hikes within the park, you can ride between points of interest get off and on at your leisure and not worry about finding a place to park your car and walk. A bit of history and friendly drivers make this an enjoyable experience.
Buses are frequent and fun for the kids. Even waiting for them is a great experience in those surroundings. More enjoyable than driving your own car.
You can enjoy the view. Audio on the shuttle explains about the history and sights to see. Shuttle was very convenient.
What a way to get on and off to see all you need to see without the drama of driving, parking and then driving again. This is a great inclusion to what is a very professional organisation.Well done.
We took this tour on a day trip from our honeymoon in Vegas. It was a very memorable trip. Lots of beautiful places to see.
Leave your car at the visitor centre and utilise the shuttle. It is a very regular service and stops at all the major points of interest. Go to the end and work your way back. We only stopped at two spots as we had limited time and I am thinking to just do those points of Interest properly you would need several days
