Excellent view of the park from Scott';s lookout, Not too hard - only 2 miles each to Scott;s lookout

Really had a great time in zion national park but this one was the highlight of our trip. My wife was reluctant at first but eventually had a good yime. This was so far among the best things ive ever done. Hiking with cliffs on both sides. Very beautiful scenery and rewarding views. If you cant get enough courage to proceed to the chained area, the hike to scouts outlook is definitely still worth it.

Scetchy at the end but amazing views and the challenge is truely worth it! Short hike, doesn't take all day. Unless you're not fit...

Absolutely loved this physically and mentally challenging hike. Definitely for those in decent physical shape. Take lots of water and snacks. We finished at 2.5 hours total start to finish with several stops to eat and take pictures. We went on the recommendation of a friend and so glad we did.

Unbelievable hike in a phenomenally beautiful setting. Lots of walking through water. I would strongly recommend a hiking stick as the river bottom is very rocky and spills are common place. One of the true highlights of our visit to Zion. I hear that during the Spring and Fall the water level gets quite high and the hike can be very strenuous. During low flow periods it is very doable - even for a couple in their mid-60's.

My fear of heights had my palms sweaty just thinking about what I was about to do. I have heard and read about the Landing, and I did not think I would accomplish the task. Well, once you climb the switchbacks and get to the plateau, you must continue on. I will say this, never attempt if wet or chance of inclimate weather. Our weather was perfect, therefore HAD to do it. It was well worth the effort. The worst part, in my opinion, is the first stretch of the climb where there can be loose "sand". My advice, keep your eyes on the trail and hang on where you can! Take a moment or two to rest and check out the sights. A fantastic experience....just do it.

Just did this on 2/25/15. Amazing hike. Weather was nice and cool which was great because we were working up a sweat. I probably would have died if it was in the middle of summer. The views were great and at the end, it wasn't too crowded so we did it rather fast (~2.5hr roundtrip) because we wanted to do a few different hikes but you can comfortably do this in 4 hours. There are toilets near the top. Bring lunch so you can eat at the top and visit David's Cairn!

Funny that we drove 7 hours from LA to Zion and did a hiking on this trail then head back. Worth it though~ That's how highly I think of this trail. take the bus to that stop and went on the hike, don't be scared by the safety notice that says "there're 6 people fell from the cliff since 2004", of course you need to be careful, but there're pretty tough 1.5 miles for you to think about it. After the zigzag part which is truly strenuous, you arrive at a flat space where the real hiking starts. From a distance, it seems no way you could get to the top since it disconnect to any mount around it. but that's exactly what I love about mountains, you got thousands of vision on the same mountain from different angles. And continue the hike, you need to wait for people to get down, be patient, and while waiting, don't look down, terrible idea if you're scared of height, even a little bit. As you approached the top, you may need to use the help of the chains more, and the mark they left on the rock due to the strong wind is remarkable and make you scared more. but just keep your focus and legs strong, it should be fine.before you arrive at the top, there's 20 feet long that's without chains, and you're completely on top of the peak, that's where I was scared most, since you have to stand up tall to moving forward which leads you to realize how deep beyond the cliff. I cursed my way through, I mean it somehow gives me strength >_<.Finally at the top, I did a very cheesy thing that I played Imagine Dragon's "On Top of the World" and danced with my friends a little bit. Going down is less scary for me but harmful for your knees, so be careful. In all, it's an incredible experience~

We did this hike in late may and the temperature was just right. We hiked in the morning so it wouldn't get too hot. Very easy hike but the last part was tough.

We did this hike in the month of February 2nd week. Weather was really good. trail was easy until the main hike starts to reach pinnacle. I couldnot do till summit as i am scared of height. But still could see the scenic view from the top which was beautiful. People who are not afraid of height can definitely complete this trail, doesnt take much of a time. Short hike of 2 miles to and fro.

The most amazing part of this trail was that it allowed me to challenge my acrophobia. I won't say that doing this cured it - but it has definitely been super-encouraging. This trail is all about pushing yourself - especially for beginners!

It is certainly an awesome feature; for anyone who have fear of heights (like me), it is still a good hike up to where the climbing the fins start. The view is awesome, and at the fork, if you take the trail to the left and go up the hill further, you can get to a viewpoint overlooking angel's landing and that is also an awesome view (and no worries of heights there). Now, I did get to the first flat area on the fin, before the saddle and climb upwards; but did not go forward because I was not feeling it. Over the years, I've learned that it's ok to turn back, be it snow covered trails where one can easily get lost in or on trails one is not comfortable on where accidents tend to happen. So, I turned back, thinking that I will come back another day.In the meantime, the view was great, and the trail is a beautiful trail. Doing volunteer trail work for years in Washington State (with Washington Trails Association), I certainly appreciate the amount of work they must have put into build this trail; and it is in awesome condition. I did see someone pushing a stroller up the hill at the lower part of the trail, I wouldn't recommend that - with the steepness that is further up.

The hike is moderate it does have steep drops and plenty of warnings. Like any hiking you do need wear appropriate shoes and bring water.
