Have been kayaking with Watauga Kayak each year for many years... can't wait to get to go back this summer! Winter is alive and well in Baltimore, but I'm looking forward to spending some warm summer days on the cold river! Come on Summer!We've been just as a couple trip, we've been with the whole family and now that the kids are growing up, they want to go more often!

Teresa took our family of 8 down the river in kayaks. What a wonderful time . Wow!!!! She was so professional. There were four children the youngest being 8, and she make sure they were safe. She taught them so much as well as showed them so many things. They are still talking about it. I would only recommend Watauga Kayaks for river experiences. Safety is her motto as well and making memories. She made great pics of all of us along the way. so we will never forget the trip. Thank you Teresa. You are the best.

Our family of five did both the "upper" and "lower" river tours. Teresa and her staff are the greatest. Friendly, considerate and our guide gave us a fun trip. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We took a chance by going with this company because it was cheaper and we had to drive from Blowing Rock . they are not as flashy as there competitors but they are a diamond in the rough. This was the highlight of our wonderful week in the mountains. we all had so much fun and it is an absolutely beautiful river with incredible scenery. The staff treated us like family and made us feel safe and right at home. I would recommend this trip for anyone of any age. They sent us a ton of pictures that they did not charge us extra for. Great guides & a great day! We had 2 kids who almost came out of the raft but Josh saved one of them & I grabbed the other one. We had a great time with family on two rafts.Highly recommend!

Such nice folks--from the owners to our guide, Micah. Just an awesome experience for us and our boys (ages 3-8) from start to finish. Very responsive. Very patient. Highly recommend.

Our guide Theresa, was awesome! She was very knowledgeable, even when we were discussing safety, she kept it fun and interesting which is hard to do with a group of teens! The rapids were great. All in all, we had the absolute best time! We highly recommend you take a trip down the river with the BEST company around!! Can't wait to go again!! Christi BB.

We took a group a addrenaline filled drag racing Junkie Kids and parents, to what turned out to be a highlight of the week. Great time for all. 4 yrs old to 55. Everyone had a blast. #1 Grandson set a record ( we are told) of jumping in to the water 10 times. Sounds easy, but just try it once!Thaks Watauga Kayak. See ya next year!

Thanks to Watauga Kayak for making our first rafting trip a memorable one. Our kids, ages six and nine, thoroughly enjoyed their time on the river. They are already asking to go again. Our guide was great with the kids and they were even allowed to pilot the raft. We drove in from Boone, NC. About an hour drive from Elizabethton, TN. The shop is located right along the banks of the Watauga River, in a quiet residential neighborhood. We checked in, loaded the raft, and took short 10 minute drive, in an SUV, to the put in site. No long crowded bus ride here. Our guide took pictures of our trip along the way. The pictures are provided to you free via email. We stopped about halfway through the trip for snacks and drinks and to let the kids stretch their legs. This is a great trip for famlies with smaller children or beginners just starting out. Be aware!!! The water is cold even on a summer day. However, you won't get too wet. We wore our swim suits, t-shirts, and closed toe shoes and were fine. Be sure to bring dry cloths and shoes for the trip home. The folks at Watauga Kayak provided professional, courteous service to our family. They seemed genuinely grateful that we chose to spend our money with them. We will definitely be returning for our next rafting adventure. Our fourth family trip with this company. As usual, a perfect outing. Our guide Seth was great with the kids, 9 and 12. Highly recommend and can't wait to take another trip.

We arrived rather early than expected for our caving experience. John gladly opened early when he saw us pull in and accomodated us with no problems. Micah also did a great job guiding us through the cave being patient as some wanted to do spulunking excursions. Cameras were provided to take pictures and the photos where sent to us afterward (at no charge). You just don't get service like this any more... This business is a very family friendly business and we will be back soon to try out the river.

I highly recommend Watauga Kayak for a family outing. Our guide Chris was awesome. He took his time to show us newbies the ropes of kayaking, and made us feel very comfortable on the water. We had a great day, and are already planning our next adventure with them!

I can't say enough about the great experience my family had with Watauga Kayak!! The guides were amazing and had us paddling like pros in no time, even my 7 year old. I would recommend this trip to any family that is looking for a fun day trip. We will definitely be back!!

Teresa is great! We had a blast going down the river in kayaks! We went on an early morning trip and the scenery and tranquility were great! Teresa is an awesome guide that knows her stuff! I will definitely be returning soon!
