As a local I can honestly say there is not much to do in Greeneville. When I am stir crazy I head to GAM. It is a great place spend a few hours browsing. There are tons of booths on several floors. The building itself is historic has an interesting layout. The owners here are one of the few in Greeneville that actually adhere to their posted hours. When I am done shopping I head next door to Tipton's, a local favorite hole-in-the-wall kind of place, that is short on fancy but good on burgers and the like with a super friendly staff. Fridays are the best of both worlds with antiques at GAM and banana pudding at Tipton's (which serves breakfast and lunch).
They also have furniture, but largely glassware and old linens, signs, and decorative items. The prices are very reasonable compared to large cities and it would be a place that a "picker" could do well.
Thank you for stopping by and shopping with us! We appreciate that you took time to write a review for us. Please stop by again!
I love this place! The owners and staff are very helpful and inviting. I look forward to my every visit. I have bought a wonderful antique wash stand, that I absolutely love! I have picked up some older tupperware pieces and some other trinkets as well. You have got to stop in and browse, you may find a treasure you will adore as well.
If you have time after doing the tour of President Andrew Johnson's home and the such, this is a wonderful shop with a lot of Antiques. Plan to take at least an hour to really check out this store. So many itmes, it was like stepping back in time. I would not take young children into this shop as there are many breakables and I do not see that young children would appreciate this type of store.
Good selection of antiques and things that you simply want the minute you see them! the staff there really seem to appreciate your business.
As stated it`s larger than it looks. Everything is marked to market value, for those items that are rare the owners are very much aware of it. But given time you can find merchandise in here that is rarely seen any more. You`ll need time, a couple of hours at least and it`s well worth the look if you like collectibles. I got lucky and found a couple I thought were cheap. Maybe you will too.
While we appreciate that the reviewer visited our store, we feel his review was unfair and misleading. Buyer beware of what?? Our town enforces a posted two hour parking limit. We have tried unsuccessfully to have the city parking authority review its policy of giving parking tickets. Ours is a three level building with many booths and vendors. We have asked the city administrators to look at ways to resolve the parking issue, but we have had no luck. Signs are posted throughout our store and we try to remind people of the parking limits so they can move their car and avoid a ticket. We have even paid parking tickets for our customers. It's something over which we have no control. Another comment was that our merchandise was of poor quality. We reject that comment wholeheartedly. Our community is experiencing an economic decline, and our vendors have tried to buy and stock quality merchandise at good prices. One vendor who is no longer a part of our store did stock used furniture, and he did at times have items we preferred not to have in our store- quality wise- but he paid his booth rent, and his merchandise sold because it was priced cheaply. It suited some people who couldn't afford higher quality items. We encourage our vendors to label any problems or sell "as is" to indicate a problem. We sell antiques and collectibles and you can find all price ranges and levels of quality. We are always happy to call our vendors and check for best prices. We work tirelessly to build our business, and to tell folks to avoid Greeneville, is harsh, and not very kind. We hope folks will stop by and check out our store for themselves. We think it's a lovely, happy store with some of the best vendors and employees you will ever meet. We extend and invitation to everyone, and if there is a problem we will try our very best to resolve it. You truly do not have to beware; we'll do our very best to see to your satisfaction.
We have been there several times, and with friends from out of town and have always enjoyed our visits......
This is the largest and best antique market in Greeneville, TN! This is a must see! This antique market has three floors and a lot of wonderful things at great prices! You will love the ladies that run the antique market!
I love visiting the Greeneville Antique Market when in town. I believe I heard them say they have 80+ vendors (large booth areas!). This store is 3 stories of fun finds and trips down memory lane. I always find something fun to take home. Staff is friendly...
If you are planning to visit Greeneville, TN and you are an antique lover, you will want to be sure to visit the Greeneville Antique Market on Depot Street in the heart of downtown! We frequent it quite often and enjoy hunting for treasures in the many rooms and the upstairs, usually always finding something to take home that we "just can't live without." The sisters who own and run the store are just a delight and will make every effort to find out whatever they can about an item from the vendors if they don't know about it themselves. If you like glassware, crocks, bottles, furniture, baskets, artwork, toys, you will find it here, and so much more! So, plan on giving yourself time to take in the GAM and find the treasure that you "just can't live with out."
Friendly, and helpful, with a good variety of items. Something for every type of antique hunter. I make it point to check in often on my hunts. Have always found something needful at a good price always a fun stop.
