Many years ago I often rode my bike out to Cypress Grove. The journey itself took me past lowland swamps where the cool swamp breezes would sweep across the road. If it was later in the evening it was almost a miasma, conjuring up swamp creatures. Bird watching, walks along the boardwalk(safe from the snakes), cypress knees etc., a great nature outing. It is great to take a stroll, forget all the mind clutter and enjoy the mid South.

peace of mind quiet and wonderful nice stroll at the end of the walk you end up at a lake. There are caged birds there as well like eagle and hawks

Nice place to get out & stretch your legs, was a little cold so we will be going back. Had fun & would be a wonderful stop in warm weather.

Graffiti on the covered picnic area that we used. Great spacious park for families with children. Enough room to spread out and have some privacy. Enjoy the walkways, even though there was one under reno and we had to detour.

This is as close to a swap as you can find it this area. Everthing went great until the little lady got lost but the two little guys and I found her. Then we all enjoyed the walk together. Great little place to see.

Very nice. Nature at its best. Never knew something like this was in Jackson. The boardwalk was fun and in good repair. Would recommend the trip around it.

This is a place you can visit over and over again. I like to carry out of town friends and let them enjoy the beauty of West TN. The small museum at the office is a nice touch.

We really enjoyed our 'leg stretch' on the boardwalk here. On our slow quiet walk we didn't see any wildlife other than the raptors that are caged. But the cypress knees and the nearly dry swamp was good enough. At the end of the boardwalk is a nice pond (large enough for me to call it a lake) with a viewing blind that is slightly cut off from the lake by trees.Rest room facilities were open and clean.

Stopped by to stretch our legs and found a beautiful forest/swamp. Walk on an elevated boardwalk to the lake/look-out at the end of the trail. Along the way visit the several aviaries: owls, eagles, hawks and check-out the "Cypress Knees" The visitor center was closed and the overall feel of the facility was of dilapidation. Might just be the environment. Anyway the weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and we had a wonderful visit.

We had fun at the park. It was something nice and free to do on a Sunday afternoon. I love thAt you can fish here. Maybe next time!

We spend a Sunday afternoon there and fell in love with this place. We saw many animals in cages and not in cages. We loved to boardwalk and observation tower, but it needs to be cleaned up a little from graffiti and weeds. Even though we spend at least 2 hours here we could have easily stayed longer. Beautiful place and it's free. Little hard to find but with it. Not crowded. Has a nice picnic area, bathroom, and water fountain right before you get on the boardwalk. My family and I will most definitely go back.

This place is a little off the beaten track but very nice. You will definitely want to allow yourself time to not be rushed. The only thing for us was that you are allowed to bring pets but they are not allowed on the boardwalk but the boardwalk is everywhere so you cannot really take your dog anywhere but the front. It was kind of disappointing for us to we had to rush our visit so as not to have to leave our girl in the car with the windows open for too long.

First GPS will take you around the world this park is on airways boulevard off of hwy 45 bypass. Second Tennessee has many cypress trees here in this park and especially at reelfoot lake. This place looks like it needs a little tender love and care. There is great opportunity to connect with nature here. The owls are just lovely. The cages are huge. These animals didn't look injured to me. But they were beautiful and you can get closer then most zoos. I'll post some photos.

Firstly, I never knew there were cypress in Tennessee. Second, this place is awesome fun. It's not far out of Jackson but it's quiet and gorgeous. My kids liked the elevated boardwalk trails and being able to see turtles, frogs, and large carp from it. The birds of prey were cool but the eagle cages seemed really small. It's free and outside, so you really can't go wrong with it.
