Hi There, Thanks for coming in and checking us out. The only reason you have to stand at a counter and order is, we're a Grocery store not a restaurant. Kinda like Publix Deli. Therefore we have no waiters and waitresses. But none the less if you ever come in on a Saturday or weekend, you'll have a wait. We're one of Williamson County's biggest destinations. And with 1500 people coming through, its just out of our hands. Stop back in during the week and I'll get ya lunch on me. Sorry we seemed pricy to you. There's only one way for us to change that and we're just not willing to compromise our quality. Thanks for the kind words about your sandwich though. Glad you liked it!If you ever come in during the week and stand in line for 20 minutes, please let me know. But thanks for taking the time to do a review. We appreciate everyone and aim to make things work for everyone if possible.
Thanks a million for the kind write up.We appreciate you taking the time to help our reputation. We'll see y'all soon, D
Having grown up just outside of Lancaster's Amish Country I will admit I was a bit disappointed that there was not a larger variety of Amish baked goods available for purchase but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the items we did purchase. It was a great kick off to our afternoon of strolling the shops of Old Nolensville.
The feed mill is a one of a kind place. Based on the Amish traditions, they have excellent breads, chicken salad, pimento cheese, and all natural products. Pastries, candies, cookies, and much more!
Although this place does not appear to be run by the Amish nor any of the products made locally (everything we looked at came from Ohio), it is still great to find a place in middle TN to pick up Amish-made foods. We did not eat here, so I cannot speak to the sandwiches they offer, but we did purchase jars of Strawberry Rhubarb Butter, Pecan Pumpkin Butter, Apple Butter, Bread & Butter Pickles, Pickled Eggs, and the absolute best Cinnamon Rolls I've had in a very long time! There is a nice variety of products available. As a few other reviewers have stated, the store can be a bit confusing and not everything had a price on it, but these things are minor. We did return after strolling through some of the local antique shops and found live music playing, which might have been nice except that it was so incredibly loud in this rather small place that we could not hear one another speak. Thankfully, we did not have to wait long in line to make our purchases. Would return for these tasty treasures if in the area again.
good food , big crowds on Saturday.Darren should add another register.Nice place to shop as well.Parking is limited.
Stopped in the Nolensville Feed Mill and found a wide assortment of baked goods and breads. Also the jellies, jams and butters are delicious. Also found the carmel puff corn. This was a great snack. Will have to try the Cinnamon puff corn on the next visit. The also had a wide assortment of vegetables and fruits that looked great.
Very good sausage gravy and biscuits. Good home cooking. Items in the store are similar to what we expect from Cracker Barrel.
My sister and I stopped here after visiting the local salt cave and had lunch. We were told it was just sandwiches. The building is the old Nolensville Feed Mill but it is now a store that sells mainly Amish food items---fresh baked breads, pies, cakes, jams/jellies, and produce. There is a tiny counter where they make a limited menu of sandwiches.Oh, boy, I had the Buggy Wheel on some of the Amish rosemary garlic bread (yummy!). This sandwich is thin sliced smoked turkey breast piled high, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and the best condiment ever--Amish made strawberry jalapeno jam! It had a bit of heat tempered by the sweetness of the berries. My sister had their fresh made chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bread. The chicken salad had cranberries and walnuts in it. Sister said it was some of the best chicken salad she's ever had. They don't make sides for the sandwiches but they do have small bags of potato chips so we had that also, along with bottled soft drinks. We both agreed we made a great choice for lunch. The sandwiches were very tasty and very filling. And the friendly guy who works there (owner maybe? not sure) came over and had us try some mixed veggie chips with our sandwiches. Very nice!I've been back since with a friend and got the same sandwich. Loved it just as much the 2nd time! The building is old, but quaint, and there are 3-4 antique stores very close by to make a whole day of it in "downtown" Nolensville!
Never have eaten here but heard they had breakfast on the weekends. But they have fried pies and man are they delicious. They have peach apple and blueberry. If you need a good dessert stop by.
Great selection of Amish pastries, butter, cheese, sandwiches, meats, pastas, breads, pies, tarts. Also Amish jarred preserves, pickles, salsa, eggs, relishes. I overheard they make over 300 pounds of chicken salad a week! I am sure during summer months there is also a wide variety of fresh local produce as well. A definite must stop in the quaint historic district of Nolensville.
This is a wonderful place to spend a weekend morning. The sandwiches were made fresh a little pricy but worth it. I had the grape chicken salad which was really good. Ordering & paying are a little confusing, you order at the counter then have to pay across the store at another. We were there this past Saturday & a Bluegrass type band was playing. Old country store type feeling. Antique mall connected that had some unusual pieces. Worth the drive and time!
We stopped there for lunch and parking was no problem. When we walked into the restaurant/store there wasn't very much info on how to proceed. Turns out you order your food and sit anywhere you can. They had a live show when we were there, very nice, Bedhed & Blondie I believe. The rooster dip sammich is where its at. Excellent, be back just for that. I recommend this place if you are in Nolensville TN.
They have the best chicken salad in the world! The service is excellent. We were offered samples of several dishes. All good! They received an order of produce while we were there. It all looked wonderful. A great place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved it. Will go back!
We love visiting the Nolensville Feed Mill. Very much a feeling of your grandmother's place. Would highly recommend buying honey, apple butter, and unique jams which we do every few months. They also serve homemade sandwiches, in this rustic setting.
