centennial village museum

Very well done history site! The people in period costumes really add to the experience- and they are super friendly and fun. Also enjoyed the "phone-in" audio tour. Overall an enjoyable & informative day! We plan to return soon.

Going on a free day was awesome. Going on a day when they're doing demonstrations? Excellent idea! We listened to a cook tell about the cattle trail while he cooked a pot of beans over an open fire. Soldiers loaded muskets and spoke of Colorado's part in the civil war. Ladies sewed and washed laundry while kids walked on wooden stilts. Another group worked on corn husk dolls and my family practiced throwing hatchets. The adobe homes and a few other buildings weren't open to look in so that was a huge disappointment. We'd like to see a larger assortment of historical items as well, but Centennial Village was such a neat place to visit!

Centennial Village is made up of several historic buildings that provide a look into western history. You can take a self-guided tour and learn about various buildings and local history stories from guides dressed in character. The printer/blacksmith is a hoot! We really enjoyed his presentation in the printing shop. The museum offers several special occasion events with additional activities, and I would suggest catching one of those as more employees are wandering around in costume and telling stories.

Such a unique place to visit to learn about life "back in the day"! The people that work there are just delightful and really enjoy sharing information with their guests. The grounds are just beautiful and they do a lot of special occasion events for families as well. The trick or treating is awesome! Truly worth a stop by not only visitors but locals as well, you won't be disappointed!

We enjoyed the idea of taking either a guided tour or going by yourself. We thought there were many interesting types of houses and lots of information to learn. The weather was beautiful for the outside touring.

Visited during the potato festival. Good time to visit and enjoy a walk through history.

It is BEAUTIFUL! There is so much to see there! A great day out for families and adults! We learned so much about the West! There are so many buildings and so much history! We loved the "live" actors with lots of information and stories to tell! The grounds are beautiful and a great place to have a picnic! Selma's store is full of "must have" items! I highly recommend this attraction to all visitors to Greeley!

Nicely done restoration of the houses from the turn of century in this area. If you read Centenial, then this is what it would have looked like in the 1880-1920.
