a very nice 140 room hotel with several places to get a nice meal while playing on one of the many slot machines, or tables games, also there is a 24 lane bowling alley, a great indoor swimming pool for the hotel guest, putt golf and at times concerts.

Great location outside of Durango and beautiful rooms! They brin gin cool concerts throughout the year as well as Conventions and you must visit the Cultural Museum next door. The history of the Southern Ute Tribe is very interesting!

I am not a casino person though I have been to several for a limited amount of gambling. To get started as a first timer we got some credits but the direction on being able to use them were a bit involved. The Indian Casinos I visited in Oklahoma would let you win enough to keep your interest. This place must be set up to let you win maybe 1 out of 10 times and then only 1/10th of what you put in. I know they are set up to take your money but at least keep me interested. Rolling Thunder was the better place to eat in the Casino. If you are there more than one day always check your "Bear Card" for free stuff.

Hotel is clean and comfortable. Always have had good food when I've eaten there. Make it to the area every year. I feel very lucky to have such a fine hotel to stay at. Staff in the casino and hotel is always very friendly. The gambling has never been good to me or my husband. It might not be high energy but its a fine casino/hotel . It's worth a trip to see this place. The local people here are so warm and welcoming.

There were not a lot of signs which made it hard to find. Twice we pulled over to check directions because we thought we were lost. They were not very busy at all. Maybe the locals know better, as these were the tightest slots ever. I also noticed their max bets were different than most other casinos with same machines. No reason to return.

I have read reviews that said this was a tight casino, but I would have to disagree. I won a jackpot and I was there less than 3 hours, and my husband also came out slightly ahead

Similar to Atlantis in the Bahamas, the Sky Ute Resort and Casino advertising would have you believe the resort is on it's own 1000 acres rising gloriously from the landscape like a Phoenix. As with Atlantis, that's not the case. Although the architecture and views are exceptional, the location is right off a main street in Ignacio. Not situated as idyllically as we'd anticipated.We stayed on a Saturday night. The casino and resort should've been packed, but they weren't. The restaurants and casino floor were surprisingly uncrowded. After dining in the café and losing $500 within four, non-consecutive hours of slot play, we understood the reason people have chosen not to go there (and this place is the only man-made entertainment around for miles!). The food was lackluster and the gaming (slots) provided absolutely no excitement whatsoever.The king room was luxurious, the bed was comfortable, the balcony was a welcome addition, and the TV was adequately-sized. However, the BED FRAME was manufactured with a SIGNIFICANT DEFECT: the frame is 6 inches longer than the mattress. Housekeeping tried to hide the defect by stuffing extra bedding in the gap and pulling a blanket over the divide. Try as they might, it still didn't stop our shins from banging into the bed frame every time we "cut the corner" walking by. Someone in Purchasing made a huge mistake and, from our vantage point, the problem isn't being addressed.The Ute Tribe REALLY needs to consider replacing the current GM and hiring someone who can bring energy, excitement, and functionality to their operation. Unless that happens, we won't be back.

The service is pretty good, but there isn't any beverage stations that you can help yourself and sometimes the wait can be considerable. The staff all seem nice and friendly. It's an Indian casino and the machines are pretty much what you'd expect them to be.

As casinos go Sky Ute is relatively small but it's large enough to give plenty of entertainment. There are plenty of slots along with poker and table games. There's a good variety of gaming options.

Husband and I were doing scenic drives while we visited Chimney Rock. We decided to stop in this casino. We spent about 50 dollars on playing slots. Very quiet in casino on a Thursday morning. Had lunch at the grill. We both got a hamburger. On the way back to Pagosa Springs, we had to stop on side of road because my husband got sick. Said hamburger was way too greasy for his belly. So not such a good time. Will probably never go back. Maybe others will have better luck than we did.

Sky Ute was a very nice, clean casino. The hotel area looked very nice as did the restaurants. But the casino has very very tight machines. You like to win a little to justify the spending but the machines would pay nothing at all. We played 3 different days and not even a smidgeon of luck. Have been at numerous other casinos that paid better than here.

Usually enjoy our visits except for the last. My wife was enjoying herself on a slot machine next to the beverage bar. She left her players club card and money in the machine while she went ten feet behind her to the beverage bar for a drink. In less then two minutes another woman jumped on the machine and started playing with my wife's money. Complaints to security were not satisfactorly resolved as they seemed to favor the claim jumper as she was a regular. Will not be coming back anytime soon. The casinos in New Mexico are more customer friendly.

I have stayed twice at the Sky Ute casino hotel. It's a wonderful place and the people there really love what they do and it shows. From the valet to the check in personnel, everyone was smiling and pleasant.I ate at the breakfast place twice and both times it was tasty. Food was fresh and the quantities were large.The casino, now there's the rub. I have never seen a $3.00 minimum craps table. If that wasn't crazy enough, they also have a $100.00 maximum. So, is this a small time game, no. The odds are 10x odds behind the line. That's a huge advantage for the player. Since I only play craps I cannot comment on the other games but the casino seemed to have every type of game.Sky Ute seems like a wonderful place to stay if I wanted to ski southwest Colorado. There are several ski slopes nearby and it makes a nice, central location. The hotel is located only 15 minutes from the Durango airport so it is convenient as well.

The casino was nicely decorated, clean, and the service great. However, we didn't have any luck on the machines.

At least 3 out of 5 days of the week, there are special casino cash options available to members (free to join). The best special is on Wednesdays for "Young at Heart" (those 50 or older) with $25 for 25 points and a voucher for a $6 lunch. This casino also has a hotel that looks beautiful.
