Great trail and nature hikes for whatever you are looking to do. There is a paved sidewalk for road bikes and rollerblading and also a crushed rock Trail right next to it for running and mountain bike rides and etc.The trail goes all the way up to downtown if you're looking for a long ride. There's also a nature Museum that is great for kids and some little nature hikes too. All in all it's a great place to do some of your outdoor fun activities

We enjoy the area tremendously and have ridden our bikes along the Platte many times. Even all the way to the Denver Botanic Gardens to view the Chihuli exhibit. What a little paradise to enjoy! Great with friends and family!

My children love the Carson Nature Center. It isn't a huge place, but there are many neat little activities. My kids LOVE the huge water and sand table. They can, and have, played for hours.

Near river and trails for tubing, there are two small log buildings with history stuff inside. Many pics of some 1965 flood that devasted area, and resulted in the reservoir dams, which kept the meandering river intact and not rerouted. Also, many stuffed animals of area, which is great for children to see.Another free attraction. Visited with son's family.

This Nature Center provides excellent access the South Platte Rivers Greenbelt. You can drive to it or access it via the light rail system. Usage is heavy and parking somewhat limited (although overflow parking at the nearby light rail station or shopping areas is possible).

Stopped here on our vacation in Littleton, CO. We loved the Walking/Biking trails, all the nature and scenery but mostly the RIVER! Went tubing and had a blast! A wonderful place to spend the day with family and friends. Will definitely stop here every time I visit Litttleton.

We went here thinking of doing a less strenous walk as we knew it would be flatter. It certainly was. And it was somewhat scenic being along the river but I would not call it peaceful and tranquil as you are constantly around major highways with lots of traffic. This is probably more a place for locals or if you want to do a less strenous bike outing with family. The nature center was closed when we were there so we cannot comment on that.

The entire river way from Chatfield SP to Confluence Park is a terrific resource, but the South Platte Park area is spectacular. Lopts of wildlife & quiet alongside a beautiful river with a paved bike path and trail/gravel options for most of the way. It's a really nice and easy float as well, with only a few half-exciting chutes along the way, with easy portage trails for the totally unadventurous.

It's a free 900 acre nature preserve. Filled with wildlife from great horned owls, to the kingfisher that's their logo. Deer, raccoons, coyotes. A great bike trail and numerous wonderful walking trails. It's a very safe area too. They offer great programs that you can sign up for as well, and a free monthly hike into a restricted natural area. The Nature Center is great as well, with a fun attraction for kids. You can fish and inter-tube in the river.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the view via a walk along the Platte River. The nature center has helpful, friendly volunteers that can answer any questions you have. There are animals in the nature center as well as a fantastic interactive water table that demonstrates what happens to land during a flash flood. That part is going to be your hardest piece to tear the kids away from! Lots of geocaching in the area as well.

On the Denver bike path trail, walking, jogging and biking available from here but limited parking in lot - use part & ride lot nearby. Great education center about Platte river ecology with various programs offered during the summer. Next to Aspen Grove center.

The walking trails go on forever. They are beautiful as are the bike trails. Worth the stop. Good place for pets (on a leash).

The nature center is just west of Aspen Grove shopping center at Santa Fe and Mineral. It has lots of hands-on exhibits on ecology, live animals, and a giant water table with sand and flowing water to learn about erosion and floods. Good outing for toddlers to school aged kids. Lots of classes and activities through South Suburban Parks and Rec. Knowledgable volunteers and rangers. The paved paths stretch for miles along the South Platte River and are a favorite for cyclists and runners. There are several ponds south of the nature center near C-470 for fishing and exploring. There is also a dog park in the vicinity. Overall a much appreciated natural area in the midst of suburban sprawl. Free admission.

I love taking my dogs here and walking along the long trails in the park. It is a great place to spend time at.
