montrose county historical museum

thank you for visiting our museum. We do only charge $6.00 per person, our museum is operated from the visitor fees, since we receive no goverment support. We are always interested in the views of our visitors, and if we have mislabeled something we are open to the knowledge of an artifact, so we could get it right. History is an educational experience. When passing through Montrose we decided to take a quick look at this museum. It's located in the old railway station and run by enthusiastic amateurs. But there's a vast and eclectic range of objects to view ranging from a pioneer cabin, agricultural equipment, tools, railway memorabilia including a caboose, household and fashion items, radios, toys and more. It turned out not to be a quick look after all - after about an hour and a half we needed to get back on the road. Time well spent.
