Easy to find and free plus the history given about each attraction was interesting. In addition it made it easier to revisit those attractions which you liked most, because it is very difficult to get good pictures from the trolley.
The Trinidad Trolley is a free service, although donations are accepted. The trolley goes to various places in Trinidad and tells of the history there. One of the stops is Mount San Rafael Hospital. There you will find a beautiful mural deplicting the history of Trinidad. This mural was hand made by a nun who used to live here.
I would probably give it a higher review but it was closed. It would be nice if they were open a little longer...they said they close because traveling gets slow after Labor Day, I know I still travel. It seemed fun and it was free-wish we could have gone. Also the lady at the Welcome Center said the museums also close after Labor Day just an FYI.
This is a complimentary one-hour tour on a very nice trolley bus of a surprisingly interesting small city. We caught the tour at the visitor center, located just off I-25 at the interchange right in the center of town. It's well worth the hour it takes, but you may find you want to spend more time here.
The trolley is free and the guide took us on a 30 minute trip on Sunday and told us about the town. If stores would have been open, I'd have spent a bunch of money after the tour. It was great fun!
We had car troubles, so we were unexpectedly marooned in Trinidad. The free trolley was a great way to see the sights (and learn the history) of the town. We toured a couple of the old homes that the driver pointed out during our ride. The mural at the hospital is a must see, too. Everyone in Trinidad was very friendly! Great place to visit!
The tour took about an hour and included all the old districts in town both business and residential. Tour guide was informative and funny.
We stumbled on the Trinidad Trolley while stopping at the Colorado Welcome center in Trinidad over Labor Day weekend. What a treat! It's a free 45-minute tour through town during which you get a nice history of Trinidad, see many buildings of interest, and venture through some of the beautiful old neighborhoods. Trinidad is one of the early boom towns of Colorado and has a colorful past. Our tour guides included a retired sheriff who certainly knew his lore about people and places. The trolley itself is beautifully restored and maintained - a wonderful example of the pride the locals have in their historic town. Tours are conducted every hour on the hour from 10 am to 2 pm, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Private group reservations, winter or summer, are also available.
