Once you get to the fourth or fifth hole, if you are mentally tough you can score. It's a real grind and for that it gets dinged. Just too hard for a resort area. Expensive, good views and the ball flies.

Not one of the vail valleys best courses.Starting with holes 1,2,&3 if you can par these 3 holes you might have a good score for the day. After these holes the course opens up a bit to a regular course. Greens a tough to get a read on to what's level, and where they might break.It's a nice course, well maintained and pretty, but that's about it.

You WILL lose golf balls on this course, probably on the first hole. But it won't be your fault. On many fairways it goes from nice, green, trimmed grass to an absolutely hopeless thicket. Don't even bother to look...you won't find your ball. Just drop another and play on. There are also gullies with thick grass cutting across the fairway in places you can't see until you get to the next rise and find that the ball you hit 200 yards right down the middle of the fairway has flat-out disappeared. Local knowledge is worth about 7 strokes, at least. So...bring extra golf balls, prepare yourself for a few moments of anguish when you miss the fairway by 6 inches and the ball is GONE forever. Then you'll enjoy the great staff and service, the truly spectacular views, and a really fun and challenging round of golf.

I've played this course a few times, and the bad reviews are from people who don't play high altitude, difficult mountain courses. You don't lose all the balls these guys talk about, and if a scratch golfer lost many balls, he's not a scratch golfer. It's not that difficult to keep the ball in the fairway. Then again, it's not a large square, flat pasture that someone turned into a golf course by planting a few rows of trees. If you miss a fairway, there probably isn't one next to it to hit back from--which is what these hackers are used to.

Once you make it past the first three holes [very tough and lots of carry], the course is spectacular and the views are amazing!!!

Don't want to tell you how many ball rolled innocently into that creek never to be seen again, it is a nice course an will play it again

Great course and gorgeous views. We really enjoyed playing here. Our party of 9 played this course 4 times during our stay. Only hitch was one 90+ degree day the drink hutch had closed at 5pm and there was no drink cart (and no water coolers at ea hole). Not cool! We called the front desk and they drove water out to us by hole #14.

Challenging, scenic, GREAT shape. Excellent mountain course. Pace of play is good even with a lot of folks who may not have played it before.

What a treat to get to play this course. Perfectly manicured and maintained. Two of the first three holes are par 5's that you can't use your driver off the tee! Things calm down after that...still just the right amount of elevation changes and scenic golf. As an added bonus, halfway through the first hole, the head professional came out to hand deliver us warm chocolate chip cookies. Can't beat that.

Leave your driver at home and bring a lot of golf balls. I'm near scratch and lost four balls. The two fellows that played with us had to quit after 13 when they ran out (lost at least 25). Very short and very tight at times. Slow, bumpy greens. Very lush conditions and some beautiful views.

Colorado is blessed with numerous amazing golf layouts, and Beaver Creek Golf Club should be included in this list. Everything about BC is first class, from the moment your first greeted, the pro shop and staff, the warm up putting greens and range, and of course the main attraction, 18 spectacular holes. This is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. track that first opened in 1982 under the direction of pro's Tom Clarey and Bob Frongillo. It is in great condition now as it was 30 years ago, as I was able to golf here numerous times back in the day including the annual Kirb-Burg Invite. I again thoroughly enjoyed this magnificent course, playing from the blue tees that measure to 6748 yards. There are many great courses to choose from in the Vail Valley, but if you do get the chance to play Beaver Creek you won't be disappointed, and the first few holes and the finishing 18th deserve special mention.
