I loved Main Street! It was nice quaint shops that were reasonably priced. I bought something at one shop that didn't get put into my bag. I didn't noticed until I was unpacking at home. I called the shop and they mailed it to me! Great customer service!
No! Don't Go!Stopped by with my Partner, to peruse some cheese for our Apres Ski. We waited, waited, waited for the girl at the counter to assist us. Instead, we were IGNORED. When we were finally attended to, we were made to feel unwelcome and that it was a bother for the girl. Well! I never! I and my Partner are completely appalled. We will not be recommending this shop to anyone.
Looks pretty nice in photos and the real-time webcam, but somewhat ordinary in real life. The "box canyon" that features widely in advertising is moderately spectacular in real life, but again not as impressive as the name suggests (e.g., the sides of the "canyon" are not particularly steep). There is always a lot of traffic on the main street, which further detracts from the ambience. The only really spectacular views at Telluride are looking across the Bear Creek valley from the Revelation Bowl and the top of the Plunge Lift
RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!I'm always excited to find a new food establishment in Telluride, ours second home, but sadly this is NOT the case with Over the Moon. This is the third time I've been in the shop, and am appalled at the rude unprofessionalism and lack of any resemblance of service. I actually gave the place not one, but three shots. First time - lack of service - but chalked it up to off season staffing. Second time - rude and lace of service - but thought, ok, it's holiday season. Third time - rude, extremely unprofessional and lack of service. No excuses left at this point. The girl at counter - only staff person working - clearly saw I was waiting to purchase items, but decided to help someone who came in after I did. Ok, here's the unprofessionalism. When she could finally be bothered to help me, I got an attitude that I was totally wasting her time. I actually had to ask her for a bag for my items, and she made a face at me. What?? Here's the rude part.I have no idea how this place expects to stay in business. Not coming back. Ever.
Love the town, such classic structure has been preserved, if you want new and modern in all things head up the gondola to Mountain Village, but if you want to feel like your in a real Colorado mountain town as opposed to a resort it's Telluride offering you that and more in a quant village atmosphere that combines modern conveniences with old school charm, can't wait for the next return visit.
Perfectly preserved 1800s mining town. Buildings have been repurposed, but history is evident everywhere -- no fast food chains or hotels allowed here. Several unique shops & excellent local restaurants & shops. And a free gondola ride up the mountain transports you to a European alpine ski village atmosphere with all the amenities.
There is no better view in ski country world-wide: box canyon surrounded by 13/14k mountains, red rock, classic well-preserved mining town, non stop lights, interesting locals, ski lifts coming out of town, etc. Certainly Park City, Aspen, Vail cannot compare. Even Euro resorts are invious.
Cute town, great views… sucked driving down through the pass in a snowstorm but definitely worth a trip.
So many great restaurants to choose from, a foodie's delight. The surrounding mountains are spectacular and there are shops of all kinds, local owners, not tourist-y feeling at all. The locals, less than 3,000, are so welcoming, move over Disneyland, Telluride might be the happiest place on earth!
A very short but sweet Street. Amazing views on 3 of the 4 points. I am definitely gonna return to this awesome little town.
Loved the ease of walking from the hotel and enjoying all the unique shops. Beautiful views as you walk around. Great places to eat scattered throughout the town.
Still has the feel of an old mining town. I like that the local business are local. The main street has more than just bars and restaurants.
A fun and interesting easy to navigate town. Interesting architectural building facades and eclectic shopping experiences. Abundant food choices from food trucks to upscale dining establishments.
Only spent one day in town after doing bridal veil falls. It is a charming town however very expensive! Cute buildings and shops the brews and blues festival was going on and there was a great vibe to the town. Tons of hiking and biking around that has better mountain views than downtown.
Scenery was AMAZING! Main street was beautiful with great surrounding scenery, waterfalls and nice flower containers in the middle of the streets... very decorative! We were quite disappointed in the lack of shops, restaurants/bars & places for dogs. We were surprised that the gondola was so dog friendly, but the town was not. So we had a dog, but no place to put her if we wanted to go into a restaurant/bar. There were not many places where you could find patios either, which we found surprising given the spectacular scenery. If you take the gondola over the mountain to the ski area side you will find more restaurants/bars that are dog friendly with nice outdoor patios. There were shops along main street; however, we did not go in any of them because of the dog. On the other hand we did not find that any of them really peaked our interest either.
