Beautiful, relaxing place to walk around and clear your head and fill it with visions of color. Enjoyed seeing the differences between similar varieties - so many to see and experience!
This is a wonderful garden to see in the spring, summer and fall. They have on display all flowering plants that will survive in the climate zone of the Fort Collins area. It is part of the Colorado State University Extension Program of Master Gardeners. We like to get a lunch to go and then visit the garden. There is some seating around it and pathways to walk about. A treat most any season of blooms.
Do not go to the garden now. It's done for the season. There's no flowers left. I'm sure it looks nice in the summer. Nothing to see right now though.
I like to take picture of the flowers and name tags to save for future reference. The gardens are small, but very accessible.
We really enjoyed walking thru the garden. Took lots of photos of plants we'd like to have in our yard!
The first time I saw this place, I told my husband to stop the car at once! It is a wonderful place to visit several times during the growing season. Truly a Zen experience, and a place we bring visitors.
This CSU annual garden is spectacularly beautiful from May through October. It has all annuals labeled. It is organized by variety and color! A spectacular backdrop for photos of any event and a treat for any photographer or lover of color or plants. There are also perennials around the borders and across the street which are also labeled.
My sister visited this July and we took her through the gardens because we had been there when we moved here and so enjoyed it. She is an avid gardener and fell in love with all of the gorgeous and different flowers and plants and the work that went into this place.
A nice quiet stroll among some beautiful flowers! We have visited previously in the month of June, and expected less of a show in October, but were not disappointed. If you are a plant/flower lover, you will enjoy.
Annual Flower Trial Garden (Bursting with Color)This place is a feast for the eyes if you like flowers with lots of color. I couldn't believe all the different varieties that are grown in Colorado. Evidently they are doing something right as it was very beautiful. Plan on a good 2 hours & don't overlook the shade garden.
This is a place where the CSU horticultural program plants seeds from various seed companies to see how they perform under Northern Colorado conditions. So you will see patches of 10 different white petunias, patches of 10 different red petunias, and patches of 10 different blue petunias, etc. all side-by-side. It is pretty to look at and for the real plant/gardening aficionado can be quite interesting. There are displays in sunny conditions, shady conditions, in the ground and in pots. Sections cover long-time favorites, perennials, and xeriscape options. For the price of free admission it is a nice place to wander around for an hour and maybe get some ideas for your home garden. But don't expect any elaborate or extensive botanic gardens like you might see in a larger city.
What a treat to see the array of colors in September. This is definitely worth a short visit, although parking is in short supply.
This unique garden area is easy to get to, beautiful to walk through and provides a way for the public to see research at work. The gardens are always a treat to view. Each year there are different varieties of flowers, and the way they present them in the garden is a rainbow of fun. There are definitely better times than others to go (ie. early summer, mid summer (BEST), but you never know what might be blooming, so GO OFTEN!
This is one of the most spectacular and very colorful displays of flowers we have ever seen. It is a breathtaking view as you realize how beautiful it is and the ideas and thoughts that go into it to. A must see for any visitors to Fort Collins and you realize what the students and staff of CSU accomplish.
We stopped here at CSU while in Fort Collins to walk around. What lovely flowers; nice place to stop & smell the roses.
