What a truly delightful experience this was! We arrived for afternoon tea and were greeted warmly by Lana, who regarded us like old friends. The Little House itself is absolutely enchanting, like stepping back through time, and the outdoor gardens and pond were gorgeous in late August. After chatting with Lana, learning the history of the property and relaxing in the living room area for a bit, we went into a light-filled dining room to relax and sample several pots of tea while dining on scones, cucumber sandwiches and tarts. The food was delicious and the atmosphere so warm.Lana is a dear, and her tours and tea were perfect for a ladies' afternoon to catch up and sample new brews. The Little House also offers a small gift shop with many blends of delicious tea (snowflake is a favorite!) and trinkets. We loved it all.For tea lovers, anglophiles, lovers of unique architecture and just those looking for a different sort of afternoon, The Little House is a perfect destination. Highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return. In fact, I look forward to it!(While Lana requests that no photos be taken of the house, she herself takes snapshots of guests and posts them for free to download on her website. I hope she won't mind that I snapped one of the exterior! I just couldn't help myself.)

Unique and special tea and tour at a special cottage. Tranquil and relaxing with lots of info for budding tea drinkers. Lana is a loquacious and special hostess. Worth the drive through scenic country views near Lake Erie.

Lana gives all of her guests personal attention. She has many interesting stories that she is willing to share about the history of the storybook cottage. She is also interested in her guests. The abundant selection of teas she had in store were all the highest quality. After the tour, Lana served a delicious tea with homemade sandwiches, scones and tarts. It was a lovely and memorable afternoon.

The very first thing I noticed when getting out of the car and stepping onto the property at Lana’s the Little House, was how peaceful and relaxed I felt. The beauty of the grounds and English Storybook Cottage immediately take you to a different (and magical) place and time.I went with a group of friends. Upon arrival, Lana personally and warmly greeted each and every one of us and we were made to feel very welcome at her home. Outside, we were able to explore the beautiful grounds and take in the lovely scenery. Lana told us the story about the property and her beloved little English Storybook Cottage. Next, we went inside, where we got a tour of the upstairs and downstairs of the home. Everything was decorated so beautifully and there were so many little details, you had to look very closely, as some things were hidden surprises. In addition, the upstairs has a cute little balcony you can go out on, with gorgeous views of the property. After our tour and hearing the very interesting stories associated with the cottage, we got to go to Lana’s tea shop, where she sells many different, unique and delicious varieties of teas! It is so hard to make a choice, because they all smell so great! (We were able to smell the different varieties). My two favorites (which I have bought) are the “Snowflake” and “Orange Chocolate”.Lana’s the Little House is definitely the place for anyone who loves architecture, tea, nature and beauty! My friends and I really enjoyed ourselves and Lana is such a great hostess! The property is so serene, I felt like I could have brought a chair and sit outside for hours (which Lana said I could)! Also, Lana was nice enough to help me with the planning of our trip and gave me some great suggestions on local wineries and restaurants in the area. Thank you Lana, for a wonderful time! *Insiders Tip: My group and I did the tour of the home only, but Lana also offers tea parties, where you get to taste her delicious teas and scones!

If you are planning a visit to this attraction to enjoy the English gardens as described on the website, don't bother. The "gardens" consisted of large clumps of day lilies, a lawn that needed to be mowed, a small pond complete with weeds and cat tails, and overgrown foundation plantings that desperately needed to be weeded. It was kind of embarrassing to take the "garden tour" and have the owner point out "wild strawberries"--a common weed as something unusual. There really was nothing to see. Since we were there a few weeks ago, perhaps Lana may have been able to get some help with her garden and its maintenance by now. The house tour was interesting and the tea (which was served in the morning) was fine. We were served scones, cucumber sandwiches, and pecan tarts. We were able to try various teas, all of which were for sale. The scones were exceptionally good. Lana, the hostess and owner, was very friendly and congenial--a good story teller.
