Visited when my children were in Elementary school--a great trip for school groups. Several interesting tours & presentations are offered depending on the season: full moon tours; life of women in the 18th century; Chilly Willy tours; annual craft fair; burial traditions; etc. DEFINITELY worth a visit! I still have very fond memories from visiting here in 5th grade many years ago. Great piece of history. I hope kids can still learn as I did from visiting here.

We visited the museum today and experienced a step back in time. The Bronck House is the oldest house in the Hudson Vally and one of the three oldest in New York State. We took the guided tour for $6 per person and it was well worth it. The tour guide Shelby was very informative and guided us through the home and it's family history. The grounds contain all original buildings and the surpassing part is that the property contains original furnishings that were included in the deeded turnover from descendant from the Bronck family.

It's a small museum that will take about an hour. There's a guided tour that's very interesting, giving the history of the Bronck family - think "The Bronx".

I learned a ton from Shelby, the guide and curator. She put each era in perspective which helped a lot with understanding what times were like for people. (I feel SO bad for the women of the era...wow! Their lives were tougher than I imagined!) It is great to be able to see homes as they were in the years they were first built. Since the home has several later additions we were able to see how some things changed over the years. I wasn't prepared for how long the tour was and hadn't really planned to be there that long. The next day I went to another historic site and now knew a little more than the guide there!

I've enjoyed going to the the Bronck Museum on more than one occasion. You can take interesting historical tours and or attend their special events. There is so much to learn here about a very difficult period in history. I learn something new every time I go. When you have Shelby as your tour guide you are in for a real treat. The Bronck Museum is a wonderful chance to travel back in time. I've been asked a number of times over the years to do Tarot readings at their special events. I love the old home and feel very comfortable here when I read my Tarot cards.

This 17th century original homestead is the oldest in New York. It is in pristine historical condition due to the fact that 8 generations of the Bronck family actually lived in it but never "updated": they kept it in the original colonial state. It is a gem. When the last Bronck family gave it up, in 1939, they donated it to the Greene County Historical Society, and it became a National Trust property. The Hudson Valley Dutch history in New York I think is often slighted in our education system, but this home, and the really knowledgeable tour guide we had, really brought it to life.

I vacationed in the area several times and never knew about this awesome museum. Thanks to TA, I found it. Our tour guide was an expert on NY history and was eager to share. We learned so much about colonial times and NY state history. It was worth the visit.

This is a beautiful home/farm with buildings dating from the 1600's-1800's. The family was good enough to donate the site and money to maintain it, and the historical society has done well by the site.

My partner and I are history buffs so we try to see everything an area has to offer. We go to the Hudson Valley and Catskills often, but never made it to the Bronk Homestead until now. The tour guide was an extremely knowledgeable woman who gave us a private tour, as it was a quiet day and we happened to be the only people there. She was amazing, as was the gentleman who worked in the exhibit barn. They really like what they do and got us very interested in the museum with their enthusiasm. If you like New York history from the Dutch through the English periods you have to see this museum. It was fun too, which is a plus for an historical site. I would recommend going to The Martin Van Buren National Park site in Kinderhook also. You can do both of these in one day.

One of the most comprehensive tours we've ever been on. Really makes 17th century life in Hudson Valley come alive. Special November tour covered fall and winter celebrations. Even provided refreshments served at that time.

We were looking for something to do on a Sunday and decided to take the half hour drive to Coxsackie. The tour included the home original with 2 additions, outside kitchen, 13 sided barn, horse barn and a couple of other buildings for $5.00 each. It was a very interesting tour. The home was in the family for 8 generations and then turned over directly to Green County Historical Society. You don't see that often. The last owner provided them with a lot of family historyIt is worth the trip if you like old homes.

This hidden gem is worth the trip!! Wonderful history, beautiful setting, very enjoyable! Visit the barns, walk the grounds, bring a picnic!

Great Historically Relevant House you must see! The drive up to Bronck from NYC was beautiful. The tour was well worth the $5 per person and was conducted very well with exception of a very talkative eccentric guide. The grounds and the barn are fascinating but the Bronck House is definitely the must see here..... Do Not Miss this Dutch Colonial house. Also if in the area, swing by and visit the Luykas Van Alen House in Kinderhook to see another great example of Dutch Colonial History.
