Something for everyone here, especially city folk looking for a touch of " country ". Here you can spend some time taking the tour through the property and plant, have a delicious lunch, and bring home maple related goodies. You will be mapled-out by the end, but guaranteed you will have had a good time. Who knew there was Maple hand moisturizer? Maple soap? And a special dark Maple Syrup used just for cooking. Upscale and fun in the back country. Go.

The tour is worth the time and money. It will give you a total appreciation for the maple syrup process. You get to see how the syrup is refined and process, the best part is the sampling of they different quality syrup. Don't forget to take some home. Little pricy but defiantly worth the money in gold.

Very nice tour inside. Learn the steps to making maple syrup, learn the history of Madava an enjoy the samples. Of course there is a store to purchase items. Be sure to notice the sap lines as you drive the road to the farm.

We have visited Madava Farms three times now....once for lunch, once for one of their summer grill-ours, and once for a pancake breakfast. The food is absolutely delicious every time, and the scenery is just beautiful. It's so nice when an experience exceeds your expectations. And the staff is great! It's a very pleasant way to spend a nice fall afternoon...lunch on the patio. Treat yourself! Oh, and the maple syrup is incredible!

From good friend's recommendations, we traveled to Eastern Dutchess to check this place out, grab a bite to eat and purchase some locally produced, organic Maple Syrup. It's an awesome facility, with spotless production and storage rooms, with an amazing outside infrastructure of tubing with continuous taps in the maple trees, linked together -- it's quite a sight to behold. The Cafe menu was fantastic! Most items had some maple syrup product in them, and all seemed to be locally sourced. We ordered (at the counter) the maple marinated flank steak sandwich, a chicken sandwich, a vegetable panini, fresh chicken vegetable soup (which was outstanding), a grilled cheese and blueberry panini; all served with an arugula, watermelon and pistachio nut salad. The only downside: the counter and wait staff were really disorganized. Our meal for five wasn't served at once, but a plate at a time. It's like they didn't read the ticket to see there were five entrees for our table! So while three of us were served, we literally waited for them to make the other two sandwiches. They forgot many items (the soup being served after the entree) and had to be reminded to bring appropriate utensils. They also charged $1 for a slice of watermelon that was, in actuality, only a quarter-slice -- a bit pricey. After lunch, we took a hike on the grounds, and before leaving, purchased a Medium and Dark Amber bottle of Crown Maple Syrup to take with us.We'll be back to take a guided tour to learn how sap from hundreds of maple trees is collected and processed. Was worth the visit, and we hope by the next time the wait staff can be better trained!

A lovely tour and tasting of Maple syrup combined with a stroll in the farm's woods. A perfect day for a family with young kids

We have just done one of the tours that are offered at weekends during February and March. The facility is pristine and everything is beautifully presented. The tour guide was warm and engaging and the attention to detail that goes into making the syrup is impressive. The tour ends with a tasting which was much appreciated by our 7 year old, as was the opportunity to roast a marshmallow on our way out. We will return later in the spring to walk the trails and have lunch as the food looks outstanding

My familt and I went to Madava Farms/Crown Maple for the October Fest and to celebrate my birthday. Both were great! Crown Maple is one of the best places to visit in Dutchess County. They offer special events one being the October Fest. Chef Jacob Griffin prepared a fantastic German lunch. You can tell all the food is of high quaility and extreamley good. A call was placed ahead of time to Chef Griifin about a birthday cake and let me tell you it was one of the BEST and it's all gone! I am attaching some photo's and if you haven't been there, go there and you will see why everyone loves this place. Again thanks to evryone my family and special thanks to Chef Jacob Griffin for a great birthday.

We visited with a group of retired teachers for a tour and lunch. The place is beautiful, the tour was very interesting and the lunch was fantastic. The grounds are very well kept and the staff was very friendly. Did not have time to walk the trails but will do that next time. We live in the Hudson valley so we drove but you can take the MTA Harlem Valley line to Dover Plains and the farm provides a shuttle. One of the great unknown attractions of the Hudson Valley.

Went to Madava Farms in Dover Plains NY. Beautiful farm, lovely area and an amazing, clean and interesting maple syrup "factory." We were greeted by a fire pit and free marshmellows. The place will get bigger and better, but a lovely day trip from the surrounding areas. Over 25,000 maple trees adorn the farm,http://www.crownmaple.com/crown-maple-farm

My family and I visited on a beautiful spring day when the president of Crown Maple was giving the tour. We greatly enjoyed his informative overview of how sap is harvested and converted into some of the best maple syrup we've ever had. Crown Maple is committed to excellence and the investment in the facilities was incredible. This is a top-knotch operation and the cafe and outside seating were only the best. The salads and sandwiches were high quality and very tasty. We also enjoyed the outdoor firepit and the wooden sticks and marshmellows provided to make for a unique and memorable experience. We hope to return when the organic chef's outdoor garden is producing and we can enjoy the many hiking trails across the beautiful 800 acre property.

We visited today for a tour of the syrup making facility and had a wonderful time. The tour was very informative and our tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. We grabbed a NY beer (I believe they only sell beer/soda from the state) and some sweets at the cafe before the tour - both were excellent. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. We hope to go back soon and try some heartier fare at the cafe and spend an afternoon on the hiking/walking trails that run all through the property. For what it's worth, I think they had the nicest bathroom facilities I have ever seen at a retail establishment.

Nice drive to get there, excellent, informative tour, good lunch. Very similar to visiting a winery.I recommend it for foodies or just for something fun to do.

We are the Receptive Operator in the Hudson River Valley and were invited to see our newest attraction. We were extremely please as we entered this property. This is a definite MUST SEE!!! We had a wonderful tour and now understand how this fine product is produced, Crown Maple Syrup. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a fine lunch prepared by CIA trained, Jacob Griffin. I can't wait to bring my family back and we also look forward to bringing many groups there. This is definitely a stop on your next trip to the Hudson River Valley. Plan to have lunch!!!
