royalton ravine county park

Nice park for picnics. There is a waterfall area but we did not go up to it . Public restrooms, covered picnic area, lots of grass area for games or just a nice view, and parking area. Come explore this park !!

Huge meadow with a pond that had rushes and willows hiding frogs and turtles sunning themselves on logs.It had been raining so the trail to the stream was muddy and slippery; however, there were lumber steps and a rope handrail leading down. The trail lead along a rushing stream (thanks to the rain) and was very wet and slippery. But as long as you are careful and watch where you put your feet, walking among the tree roots, it's fine. You'll reach a suspension bridge where you can cross or continue on.It's a lovely place on a wet day. I can only imagine how it would be on a clear, dry day. However, my pet peeve are "little girl screams" from both little girls and their mothers! If you don't like nature, stay in the mall. If you want to be out in the woods and commune with nature, you've got to know there are bugs and spiders and mud.I love nature and when I have that perfect shot lined up in my lens, the last thing I want to hear is that "little girl scream".

You get it all here. Hiking, fishing, picnicking, waterfall, historic ruins. Trails are mild with only a couple steep inclines. Lots of fun for all ages.

We love going to Royalton Ravine Park for a hike! Great for kids 3+ and adults that can handle many stairs/slopes. We head in across the grass, by the pond, and enter the woods on a marked trail. Follow the trail to stairs that go down into the ravine. That leads to a suspension bridge and a trail towards the waterfall. Hike uphill and visit the remains of a stone building (nice photo op) then ahead on your left is a short path to the waterfall. This is a great place to burn off calories and kids energy! Nice shelters near the parking lot for a picnic lunch, too. Be warned, paths may be muddy. Also a great place to geocache and walk your dog!

If your in Gasport and want to get some fresh air, this is a good place to take a hike. Neat little suspension bridge. Nice place for a picnic and a cute little waterfall.
