The last time I came here was on July 4th 2014. On July 4th after 5pm, they allow Grand Islanders to come into the park for free with ID showing address & picture aka License, Permit, etc. In 2008, 2009, 2010, & 2011 before my youngest was born, my family of 4 had season passes to here since we lived in the townhouses literally within walking distance of this place. (The water park was practically in the backyard almost of the complex.) If you took a shortcut, the walkway past the senior homes, you could walk to a winding road, across the Fantasy Island parking lot right up to the gate! Some days, I would get home from work, get off the bus right next to Martin's Fantasy, go inside the park with my Season Pass & ride one ride or 2, before going back out headed home for dinner. lol Funny huh? It's always interesting to see the park change from back in the day. 2007 we didnt have passes, but to this day, I still remember the Chaos ride, and WISH they brought it back. I also loved the Scrambler & was sad to see that go. Other rides that are missed is the School Bus, The Log Flume, The Super Trucks Track, the Petting Zoo & Lady Bugs Ride in Kid's section, Patriot, Nitro, & The Daredevil droptower!!!! They also have AWESOME shows throughout the day at the park: The Saloon Show is a personal favorite, my kid's loved seeing the different Fairy Tale Theater shows, The Shootout is good; I love the haunted shootouts the best at the last few weekends in September. Bottom line; LOVE this place. We have to go again!!! Can't wait until July 4th again! The fireworks are breathtaking!!!!

The kids loved the water park but they were at the age (9) where they couldn't get on certain rides and were too old for other rides to be fun for them. There seems to be a big gap for kids around this age at this park.

Took my 10 year old grandaughter here. Wide variety of rides. Even rides for Grandma! Very nice water park that is included in admission. There is food to purchase or just bring your own picnic food. There are tables to use. We also enjoyed the train that runs to the back of the park. It is also fun to take a rest and visit the live shows.

I am a huge amusement park fan.... I go to Disney World twice a year, Coney Island as well, and Cedar Point at least once a year, as well as Canada's Wonderland, and others. I had driven by Martin's Fantasy Island many times over the last 20 years and it looked too small and limited from the highway to be any fun. We went recently, and it blew away all my low expectations. The park is much larger than the drive-by highway view allows. There are easily an entire day's worth of rides at Martin's, including the Silver Comet, their great wooden Roller Coaster, the Devil's Hole, a centrifugal force ride much like the old Hell Hole at Coney Island that I loved growing up in NYC in the 70's and which was closed years ago due to an accident, and the Mind Warp, a high flying spinning and twisting ride. Add to that a great assortment of bumper cars, coasters, classic arcade games, water rides, the Iron Horse classic steam train, free canoes to use for a nice ride, and much more, and it makes the $22.95 price for a full day a great bargain. There are always discount tickets available at local supermarkets, etc., which knock a few bucks off, and make it an even better deal. Its not Disney World, but its a great and fun plave to spend a great day of rides, fun, laughs and food at a great affordable price.

I have been to 33 different amusement parks and not once have I left so angry with how poorly a park was run. It starts with the weak operations on their best ride. The workers demand that they put the restraints down for you, only after they check every single persons seat belts. They take a long time to describe rules and the coaster takes about 3-4 minutes to dispatch. The food is terrible. They do not permit you to have cheese pizza in slices only pepperoni. When I went to another stall it took 20 minutes for me to get fast food and the employee was rude.Other problems include that the park is very spread out for no reason and has a lack of many good rides. There are a few good kiddie rides, but the lack of quality on all of them is atrocious. The single good thing about this park is Silver Comet. Silver Comet is a wooden coaster built by Custom Coasters International, so quality is expected and it delivers. Also, the tilt-a-whirl is pretty high quality.Other than that there was nothing about this park that made me want to come back, but there was a lot that made me want to leave, and that never happens. I would not recommend this.

Having driven by this amusement park for years I finally broke down and took the kids. I am not a fan of amusement parks in general but this outing was a lot of fun. The price was right (use a coupon if you can) and the lines were short. My kids are 4 and 6 years old and were tall enough to ride all the rides but they choose to stick to the ones that were on the tame side. I loved that they had a mix of old fashioned rides and newer ones. They even have a canoe that you can paddle around a swampy pond. We spent the afternoon at the water park which was the perfect way to cool down. They have lockers inside the park but you really don't need one as they are right near the parking lot and you get in and out privileges with your ticket. We will be going back next summer for sure!

It was a gorgeous day to spend at Fantasy Island. It was my Granddaughter Cyan who will be 7 soon, my husband and myself. The trip started slow because we had to cross the Queenston Lewiston bridge - had almost an hour wait but then we were off. We brought our own picnic lunch but really didn't take the out to eat it until we left the park. We started on a few rides and then we headed for the water park. This first thing was the wave pool which was really cold but after jumping the waves it wasn't so bad. Then we went to the Lazy River. I of course fell off my tube trying to get on it. Cyan said I did it on purpose which I didn't but it was ok. Did our ride and got really wet under the water falls that I got pushed into. We went back and forth on these two rides. Cyan then did a few of the smaller slides in between waiting for a tube. We stayed they for about 3 hours without even knowing it. We then went out into the park had a bit of lunch and then hit the rides. We missed the shootout show but that was okay Can didn't mind she wanted to do the rides instead. She did a couple herself and then I did some with her. The spinning Tea cups, the Air Balloon ride and the Doggy Roller Coaster. Well we didn't want to leave but Cyan had another outing that evening .All and all it was a really great day. We will be back

I took my daughter for the fY while visiting Buffalo & had an awesome time! You could see Niagra from the Ferris wheel, the roller coaster takes your breathe away, but my favorite by far was "The Mind Warp", the name says it all! If you're in the area it's definitely worth the trip, I'd go again in a heart beat:-)

As a kid I went to Fairyland Forest in Conneaut Lake Park [it closed in 1980s...] and to my surprise MFI had several of the same rides and ideas... its very old fashioned which I loved and you can bring a picnic which really saves on the costs. As my son is over 48" now - he had the freedom of riding some of the bigger rides and the smaller ones too - there is a small persons [under 7?] area near the front of the park and some cool rides at the back... He did do the wooden roller coaster once - which was enough- but all of the other rides were fun... The day we were there it wasn't that busy so it was on and off rides as we wanted - even the roller coaster was fine. ...As was a hot and sunny day the second half of the day we went to the water park which is included in the admission and my son and I spent the rest of day on the 3 or 4 big water slides and in the lazy river bit. All in all a great day... very pleasantly surprised and great for kids.

-We visited Fantasy Island on a Thursday. 1130am (OPEN TIME) until 6pm (CLOSE TIME was 830pm)-We visited with out son, who is 16 months, and is 31" tall.-There were about 6 rides that we took him on, and he loved them especially for being his first time to an amusement park.-We also spent time in the water park, with him being able to use the Lazy river, splash pad & wave pool (with us of course)-We were able to bring in a picnic lunch & dinner, and use one of the many covered picnic table pavilions.-There were lots of reasonably priced food options, if you prefer to eat at the park.-There were some good thrill rides and a wooden roller coaster for adults/older kids (48"+).-Loved that we didn't have to wait in long lines to go on rides... longest we waited all day for anything was about 5mins... most rides, we basically walked right on with no line at all.-All-in-all, a great amusement park for families, especially with small children.-Admission price was $22.95/adult (with coupon) and our son was free!-We will definitely come back next season when he is over 36" and can go on more rides.

Going to the falls or around Grand Island? Maybe you want to stop at Martin's Fanatasy Island. I`d suggest it to the 12-under age group. It`s perfect for impatient kids. There's usually very little waiting and the rides are super fun. Like Crazy Mouse, Bumper Cars, Full Tilt, Sack Slide, Rub-a-tub, the Ferris Wheel, and if your brave enough, the Silver Commet. But that's not even all the rides. There's also a whole kiddie ride section, water park, and shows like Wild West Shootout with people falling off roofs, stunning hero's, comedy, fights, and more! And like their motto says, Spend a Day; Not a Fortune.

Martin's Fantasy Island is an amusement park located on Grand Island in the state of New York catering to young families. The park opened in 1961 and currently includes 32 rides (six are in the water park) spread across 85 acres. Park admission is less than $20 a person if you stay at the Kampgrounds of America site next door. The park opens at 11:30 and closes at 8:30 during peek season. It is not open on Mondays. Parking is free. Many of the park's rides are dated and the same kind you would find at a traveling carnival. There is very little at the park for thrill seekers. With rare exception, all the ride lines are nice and short. Rider safety is well managed. The park is clean and well kept. Food at the park is nothing special and exactly what you would expect from an amusement park. You can easily complete the entire park in a day. Be sure to check out the live shows, especially the "Wild West Shoot-out" show. In conclusion, Martin's Fantasy Island is good day out with kids. But the park is old and many of the rides are dated. If you are looking for thrills, go to Darien Lake.

We recently visited this amusement park that was a favorite of my husband when he was young. We enjoyed the Wild West Shootout Show and the kids (ages 5, 8 and 10) had a variety of rides (some of them unique and vintage looking) that they enjoyed. Lines were not too long, parking was free and the admission price was reasonable. I would recommend it for families with younger kids to pre-teens.

This park is good for preteen and younger, the rides are decent but not "thrill" inspired except maybe the new one they have. The waterpark is always packed on a hot day and there is no where enough seats around. The little kids park was always perfect when the kids were younger, now at 10 & 8 they can ride almost all of the "big kid" rides. Usually pretty busy on weekends, there can be long waits for the favorites. My daughter had the longest tilt a whirl of her life the last time we went it was well over 7 minutes and half the kids were green when they got off, but the ride operator thought that was funny I think

This has been the worst experience of my life... Went to the park looked like a gorgeous day... Not even two hours of being there it started to rain heavy and started toThunder like craZy... Next thing we no the park is being close down.... Little did I no that there was a no refund policy the employee at the park told us... Really though no refund so just take our money and we get to enjoy nothing but rain and waiting just to be told the park is closing... Never again will I go
