We play nine holes here at Beekman almost every Friday afternoon during the golf season. Generally we play the Taconic 9, which is just challenging enough. This particular course does not do well after a heavy rain, with the long par 5 which parallels the Taconic Parkway getting pretty boggy. Greens are usually in good shape. Food in the clubhouse could be better and we rarely stay to eat for that reason. Beware of some starters and course rangers who are extremely cranky people. Lighten up, this is NOT Pebble Beach. You get lots of high handicappers here, so it's a good place to hunt for golf balls. Pro shop can be overpriced except for decent sales at the end of the season.
Liked the new driving range and the course is usually excellent. Restaurant is ok. Worth making a reservation.
Beekman Golf course is a very nice golf course that has 3 challenging 9 hole courses. I enjoy all of the courses, however I must say that on the Valley course they have a new 7th hole and the setup leaves alot to be desired. It's a very difficult par 3. In general, the course layouts are challenging must manageable. There is a full service clubhouse and the people working there are always very freinedly and helpful. Last year the course in general and the greens was always in very good condition. All in all a nice course to play.
played in a tournament here and I must say I was impressed by the courses layout. there is a full service clubhouse and the people that run it are very nice and helpful. the course itself is in great condition and plays well for any type of player so you will enjoy it no matter what your skill level is.
Nice courses with many challenges and decent prices. (There are 3-9 hole course) Best to get a cart as they are all hilly. Doesn't handle water well so best to play on dryer days. Greens are always in good condition. Food is at best fair.
The facility is been around for a long time, with new home sites keep building around this area it become a bit crowded.
Each fall, Friends and I play an annual tournament at Beekman each year, and each year we are offered great service at a good public course. The rates are reasonable for 27 holes, for a group rate it was under $100 per man (including lunch), many daily fee courses in our area are more than that for 18 holes (with no lunch). The course was in good condition for having as much rain as we did prior to our scheduled date. The fairways were pretty clean (leaf free), at the start of fall this can be quite a chore. The greens were in good shape (despite people not knowing how to fix ball marks). This all helped our group to play at a good pace of play. It is a good course with some nice views. It will never be mistaken for some of the classic courses that New York offers, it is better than most, and it is a fair test and an enjoyable layout that makes for a good round of golf. We will be back there again next year.
I play golf here a few times a year and it has 3 challenging 9's - great golf at a good price. I only eat there when lunch is included as the food is just fair.
You can play golf on this public course. It's a great place and the greens are always cared for properly
great service, great course. The grounds are immaculate and they have a great pro shop and a decent restaurant. The golf pro was very helpfull.
Food is average at best. Lunch serves the worst potato chips I have ever experienced. Bread is often old. Portions small. Prices, for what you get, I think are to high.
After 48 yrs., they changed the layout of one of their three 9-hole courses: Valley. Due to a potential lawsuit from a homeowner complaining of golf balls, from driving range, landing on her property - they moved the range. Valley #1 is now the range. The original #2 is now #1...about a qtr. mile from clubhouse. They added a new hole - #7 - (a 120+ yd par 3) with tee box in front of trees & temp. green. Finally, they closed the green from new #6 & now use the one from former #1. Confused...so was I & the rest of my foresome. To add insult to injury...they raised the prices about $5. Bottom Line...If you play here, make sure you request the Highland & Taconic courses.
