lakeview village shoppes

We rode our bicycles from Wilson to Olcott on a beautiful fall weekend. We rode Route 18 which is a busy road but has good shoulders. We stopped by the lighthouse and shoppes in Olcott. The shoppes are quaint. The views of the lake are nice. Overall it is a nice place to stop but at this time of the year it is not a destination for more than an hour unless you are eating there. I have to add that the restrooms in the town park are outstanding! From the outside the building looks unkempt and old but they must be in the middle of renovations. Inside they were light, modern and extremely clean.

We were very glad that we stopped in Olcott and visited the shops. The collection of building that the shops are in is cute - that's really the only word for it. The shops are connected to each other around a square deck with a few tables and a wonderful view over Lake Ontario. We walked through all the shops and they ranged from tourist souvenirs, to jewelry, to antiques/collectibles and a natural/mystic store. There was also a place to get ice cream, beach food and ice cold sodas. Public restrooms were available. Everything was flat and easily accessible, but some of the stores were a little crowded inside for anyone in a wheelchair. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the prices we saw were reasonable. We also walked down the block to see the beach, the public park and to pass by the amusement park, which was closed.

When my husband and I discovered these shops we both felt like we were on a board walk along the ocean. We couldn't wait to explore the shops. We found coffee, snacks, ice cream, antiques, jewelry, clothing ect. We also found friendly shop owners and clean facilities. I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time we were in Olcott. My 7 year old loved being there also. It's nice when you find a place that doesn't mind a kid that has a lot of questions. This is a perfect place to spend the day with the family. Have a picnic, walk the beach eat some ice cream go to the carousel park and make memories. It is also the perfect place to sneak away for a romantic trip with someone you love. We found information on vacation rentals and looked into some of the upcoming events they have scheduled. This is a place we will come back to again and again.

Small but charming little shops located on a boardwalk located right along the lake's edge. Antiques and hand made treasures make these shops very browse worthy! Grab an ice cream or other treat and enjoy the sitting area located in the shopping area.

What a nice spot to visit on a warm summer's day. This boardwalk above Lake Ontario in Olcott, NY boasts great little gift shops and snack bars. There is outside seating so you can enjoy the view of the lake. There are public rest rooms that have always been clean when we were there.
