Several different layouts in different styles. One of the layouts was the one that was on display in the Citicorp Center in Manhattan at Christmas season for many years.Another is supposed to be Prince Edward Island and is so realistic that if you take a photo of it it is hard to believe that it is not real.When we were there in July it was for sale and I am not sure if it is still operating.

This is the trainophile's heaven. There are are trains everywhere and the scenery around the trains is broadway quality on a miniature scale. I heard it was going to close. That's too bad. I enjoyed every minute, every train, and every display. If it does open in 2015 don't miss it. You could regret it...

What a sad day for all train lovers and the region. Two wonderful artists that have pleased thousands for years have had to close because of finances. Truly sad and will be missed.

This is definitely worth the drive from Albany to Pottersville if you're a model train fan. It's way better than the train exhibits they've had in the past at the Schenectady Planetarium and "The Great Train Show" in December at the Concourse in Albany. The attention to detail with the scenery is amazing. Anyway, you'd better get up to see it soon because I'm not sure it's going to be there after Columbus Day. If they are going to move it, I think this would be a great addition to the NY State Museum in Albany since most of the scenes depict portions of the State.

Me, my wife, and my son visited Railroad on Parade on a rainy day, hoping to enjoy ourselves doing something interesting and different while on vacation there. We were a little skeptical that we would spend a significant amount of time there, thinking we would be in/out in an hour or so. We were wrong! We actually spent about 2 hrs there. I could have spent about another 1/2 hr reading up on historical points described throughout the exhibit, but my son was "satisfied" (i.e. "done") after about 1.5 hrs. Overall, we were very happy to have chosen to visit ROP during that rainy day and will definitely visit again the next time we vacation near there. It should also be noted that the people working there are very knowledgeable about trains and are eager to share it with you. Take advantage of that! They are also very helpful and thoughtful...we left an item at ROP and they mailed it back to our home when we notified them of this.

I have been to Railroads on Parade several times, as my husband is a model train buff. Every time we go, there is something new to see - the attention to detail, all the figures, the way the landscape changes from day to night. Wonderful to see. I hope everyone who created these amazing sets and who work so hard to maintain them, knows that their works of art are appreciated.

I'm always upset to find people disappointed by what they see at Railroads On Parade because so many people think it's a five star exhibit and we've worked hard to keep it so. I'm not sure what "Pizazz"' is. In the eye of the beholder, I guess. But I had been told about a group that had arrived an hour early in spite of the advertised opening time and had been told that they were not pleased with us. I'm sorry if it spoiled their day, but there are 64,000 Brochures out there that provide the correct hours of operation. This was a 25 minute drive from downtown Lake George but my children loved it. This would be a great day trip to coordinate with the natural caves in Pottersville as they are less than 5 miles apart. While only one room, there were six very elaborate train displays. Each one had a day/night view that changed every 3 minutes. They also have a treasure hunt, where's waldo type sheet which kept my children entertained as they tried to find everything. Nice way to spend a few hours, especially if it is raining.

I really enjoyed this unexpected gem. The layouts are incredibly detailed and the attraction employees are friendly and informative. The lighting in the hall and in the exhibits change every 7 minutes to simulate goeing from day to night. The hall is spotless and well maintained. If you are in the area, RoP is definitely worth a stop.

We were really impressed with this amazing exhibition. In order to really appreciate it, you need to take the time to look at it closely, a bit at a time, so as not to miss any of the amazing details. The exhibition is “alive:” the trains are running, the lights go on and off, the neon signs are flashing, the attractions at the amusement park are moving...and there’s even a movie playing at the drive-in! A static photo just doesn’t do it justice – you have to see it, with all its light, sound and movement. Every 3 minutes, a 24-hour period goes by, as you watch day turn into night and night turn into day. We were lucky enough to meet Barbara Dunham, co-owner, who very kindly spent time with us, explaining about the display and pointing out some of its gems (such as the incredibly tiny lobsters climbing up the ramp, which we would have likely otherwise missed!). If you go to Lake George, it’s only a 25-minute drive. It’s definitely worth a visit!

It's reviews like this that make our long days worth it at Railroads On Parade. The staff is here hours before opening getting everything ready to go. They really appreciate it when it's pointed out in a Trip Advisor review how hard they try. But that's why we're all here. Without you, there wouldn't be a Railroads On Parade.

I never expected to find such an elaborate FIRST RATE exhibit in this tiny town in the Adirondacks. The exquisite detail and magnitude of this exhibit gave us a lot of bang for the buck. The hostess was so gracious and really enjoyed sharing some of the finer details with us. Although I don't know much about trains, I really enjoyed the engineers booth and control panel. The scenery is really lifelike and It brought back a lot of memories of yesteryear and locations I have seen in real life. We have made this a regular stop to take guests every year. There is a gift shop and a video showing how the exhibit is created and installed. The ease of getting on and off I-87 and free parking are a big plus.

"WOW" is one of our favorite expressions here, and if you stand near the entryway to these spectacular exhibits, that's the word you will most often hear, along with "awesome" , "geez!", "amazing" and many more breathless reactions like that. It's why the staff comes to work every day hours before opening so that everything will be "spectacular" for the visitor.
