Had an opportunity to sample a lot of great beers at the event. I must say that as a so called craft beer IPA snob I have tried them all. It is with great confidence and conviction that the Beaver Bite IPA is by far one of the best if not the best beer I have had in a long time. If you like Long Trails Limbo than you will love the Beaver Bite. I have not had the chance to visit the brewery, as I just learned of it but can't wait to try some of there others like Over Bite there double and Under Bite a easier summer drinker I'm told. Great Job Paradox keep doing your thing. Hope to se ya soon. Road trip is coming up soon, can't wait.

If you're heading to the north country, stop in Schroon Lake at exit 27. Paradox Brewery is no longer a secret. They're brewing some of the best micro brews around. They have great offerings and fantastic season beers to wet your appetite. In their facility you'll see the vats downstairs where they brew. Go up the side stairs to their small tasting room. Try everything, bring your growler or buy one. Buy some T-Shirts too. Paradox is a must stop in your MicroBrew adventures.

Was a lot of fun hanging out under the tent trying different beers last summer. Got to meet interesting people and talk beer with the Brewers.i have tried many ipa's and their beaver bite is one the best I have tasted. My son was up to the brewery this past weekend and brought home a growler.awsome beer and great people can't wait to be back up for Memorial Day weekend.

We have supported this business from the beginning, having a camp nearby we anxiously awaited their first brew. Wonderful to see a new business in the adirondacks and one thats so successful. My husband who is a home brewer loves the variety, my favorite is the Red Tail Alewhich I think appeals to many beer drinkers. Although we loved the name Psycho Erin for one of the first beers brewed . All the local restaurants carry some variety of their beer. The taproom is very small and hold only ten people tops, samples are free and a good way to see whats new and tasty. Their putting in a bottling line so filling growlers won't be the only take away option. This fall they had a makeshift beer garten, very popular!!! Beer and chips, no food port a potty, but tons of fun. We hope that becomes a more permanent fixture. Prices very fair for refills and growlers , T-shirts for sale to promote a great new business.

Like: Locally operated and made in the Adirondack Park. Great selection to taste. and purchase at a reasonable price. Great present idea for the beer drinker in your family.Dislike: Staircase is dicey to climb.

The brewery is just 2 miles from my house. My brother gave me a gift certificate for my birthday so I've had several different growlers. Not a bad one in the bunch.A definite must try for brew lovers.

When the brewers have the same taste in beer as you, you can't go wrong. Less than a quarter mile from Exit 27 of I 87 but remember this a "half" exit meaning you can only exit northbound and get back on south bound, You'll have to use exit 28 otherwise which will take you through the village of Schroon Lake. I like the Beaver Bite IPA and the Porter. Very easy to find it is worth a quick visit. Watch their active Twitter feed for updates.

The Brewery is a great addition to Schroon Lake. The beer is so great, the area inside and outside makes you want to stay a little longer than just a sampling.

Ok beers, still young. Fill a growler and hit a BYOB pizzeria downtown Schroon Lake. And then fill it again on the way back to the campsite! Took us several days of paddling to figure out the namesake - named for Paradox River, which floods so much during the spring thaw that it flows backwards. But the brewery is not located in Paradox. Which is a Paradox in and of itself? Room to grow....

This rating is for the beer which is very good, specifically the Schroon Lake summer ale and the Effingham Steam, we bought a growler of the ale after the free beer tasting. At most breweries we have been to the staff are enthusiastic and friendly, maybe it was an off day but the staff seemed they were just there to work which is too bad and makes it less of a fun experience. Go for the beer.

I have no idea what would be a paradox in having a craft brewery located in Schroon Lake, NY, other than it is NOT located on Paradox Lake, and it doesn’t have a pair of docks on Schroon Lake. This small brewery is in a small building, with the brewing equipment on the first floor and the tasting room just a short Adirondack hike up the stairs to the second floor. However, on this beautiful Summer day the tasting was being conducted under a tent behind the building.Almost a year old, July 26 they will be celebrating their first anniversary, it would seem by the continued flow of customers returning with growlers for refills, that it has built a strong customer base. Or just looking at their web page listing almost 50 locations just between Lake Placid and Albany should clue you in that they know what they’re doing. So you can purchase growlers of their beers to take home, and you can also purchase 16 oz. pints to enjoy right there discussing the finer points of each offering with the friendly staff or the other brew-loving customers. You say you’re not sure which of their brews you might want to enjoy? Well, how about having a tasting of each! They will gladly give you a few ounces of each brew, at no charge, and explain it to you. Of course, after such accommodating, warm and friendly service, not to mention six or seven of these different tastes, you’ll feel obliged to leave a “donation.” Just make sure you have a designated driver to get you safely home, with or without a growler. Available food is limited to a bag of chip to meet State requirements. The only bathroom facility I saw was a port-a-john. If the tastings need to be conducted on the second floor, they do not have an elevator. I don't know what accommodations they make in this situation. A pint of beer to enjoy there will set you back $5. Refilling a small 32 ounce “growlette” is $5.50. I don’t know the cost of filling the 64 oz. growler, but it’s got to be less than $11, and they don’t care where the growler came from, as long as it’s clean! The offerings the day we were there covered a refreshing Summer wheat ale, a pilsner, a red ale, a couple of different IPAs and more. Check out the hop plants growing next to the tent, and watch for the solar panels that I heard were coming in the future. If your local watering station doesn’t have at least one rotating tap for Paradox, tell them about it and ask them, nicely of course, to get their ADK together.

We have been going to Paradox Brewery since it opened last summer. They have a free tasting room so that you can decide what beer to buy. They offer 5 or 6 varieties of fresh brewed beer. I like the Red Ale and IPA.The staff is very friendly and they know their beer. You should stop in and get a growler to bring home.

I was able to sample a few of their brews. My favorite is a light ale. You are able to buy in different sizes for taking home, with the ability to reuse jug for return visit! Definitely recommend :)

Right now this is a ground floor operation, literally & figuratively. In other words, it's just getting started, plus they make the beer on the ground floor, and you walk up to the second floor for sales and tasting. Nice young lady serves samples drafts and fills the growlers. Bring your own empty if you have one, although the Paradox growler is mighty cool looking and I suppose it's worth the extra bucks. They even offer a mini growler for five bucks, plus a five dollar fill charge. The beer is certainly tasty; I'd go four stars on the beer. Overall I gotta go with five stars, meaning excellent, and now I'll tell you why...This operation is trying to grow their own hops nearby, going for that whole sustainable thing. So that's cool. Plus they give you free tastings. Plus the lady who pours the beer is very nice. Plus you can walk right into the brewery proper. Plus it's a neat addition to the Schroon Lake region. Which, if you know the area, here's the main reason: It's ok to go to church AND drink beer...you just don't want to do both at the same time. The other thing you need to remember is, don't go looking for Paradox Brewery in Paradox Lake. It ain't there.Anyway this place is going to get a lot bigger, so you better stop in soon. That way, you too can say "I remember when Paradox was in a little barn down on Route 9..."
