Great discovery options thoroughly enjoyed by the 4 and 5 year old grandsons. Recommend to anyone with children and everyone who loves airplanes.

Older, smaller museum. Some interactive exhibits. Very informative. Not quite 4 stars, but not 3 either, more like 3.5 stars.Great for adults interested in aviation. Young kids will be interested as well. Challenging with tweens.

I love the Amelia Earhart exhibit at the museum which is sponsored by the Zonta Club of Schenectady. There is a replica of her plane and a manequein that looks just like her. There is also a wonderful space rover exhibit. Very interesting for adults and children alike.

They need a tour guide! It was not worth $8.00 each, without a guide. The section we wanted to see was "under construction."

Whether you're a vet who flew the vintage aircraft at this museum or a younger person/family, this museum is fascinating. The large collection of aircraft and other items associated with the aerosciences will help you understand the history of flight in America. Staffed entirely by volunteers, who also rebuild and restore planes. You can actually climb into the cockpit of several aircraft. Kids and kids-at-heart will love this! For those physically challenged, the parking and outside aircraft area is level and there is an entry ramp to allow you into the hanger which has been fitted up as a museum.

The E.S.a.M. is composed of two gallies. Gallery one greets a visiter with a lobby/gift shop. From here the tour starts with William Golub Center For Aviation Sciences Center. A/c present here are early 1900's, preWW 1, WW 1 , into the mid-30's. Some of the a/c include:A replica of a Lockheed Electra, with a Mannequinn of Amelia Earhart.7/8 scale of a Nieuport 14.1/2 scale JN-4 Jenny.Replica of a 1922 French 'Flying Motorcycle'.This gallery has several glass cases of model a/c of the above listed aircraft. Moving on is a large exhibit of ice coring in AntiAcrtica.Gallery 11 is part WW11, up to the space race. One glass case is full of navigation instruments & a case of a WW11 Norton bomb sight. Moving on is the Battaglia Space Hall. Here are space suits & a glass case of the moon landings sites. THe WW11 era is about the attack on Pearl Harbor & one case about Japanese aviation. NO WW11 aircraft. The biggest exhibit is large model of the Japanese a/c carrier Akagi, which was used in the 1970 movie 'Tora, Tora Tora'.Outside Gallery 11 are 19 a/c from the 50's into the 80's. This was my second visit. First trip was sunny, shooting 35 MM, photos great. Second visit was cloudy, photos not so great.In Gallery 1 some areas are blocked off for painting. I would say there are at least three staff/volunteers for a tour & answer questions. Possibly an hour is necessary to see both galleriers, long if photographing. The museum's entrance is at a four way traffic light. If coming from the west/south, Rudy Chase Drive will be on the right. The museum's sign is not large, a visiter has to look for it. A visiter will not encounter large crowds. This is a wonderful museum for the airplane enthusiast; the history buff and, for someone that likes to learn something new. Easy parking. A really nice & interesting curator. It's not a big museum - good for an afternoon trip. Young children and their parents would find the museum quite interesting. By the way, next door is an ice rink. You can really make a memory for your family without spending a fortune.

Representative aircraft from many eras, back the WWII, Lots of Viet Nam era craft and more modern, you can get right next to and touch a piece of history.
