The temple's architecture is nice, and the priests seem to do a nice job during the pooja. The behavior of those at the counter are unacceptable, and unwelcoming. They seem to care more about the money given by the guests than the providing a peaceful, holy place for worship. It's suppose to be religious and cultural setting, not a business establishment with.

Sometimes my son and I stopped by, although we are not Hindus. You need to take off your shoes to get inside the temple, where there are many deities inside. The temple seems to be under renovation all the time. It look greats and the atmosphere is quiet. My son likes to light a small cup of oil. The canteen in the basement is open almost all the time, and it is big and rather empty. It offers simple and authentic Indian food. My son likes Mango lassi there, which costs $1.5.

Established nearly 40 years ago by expatriate Indians, the temple has been regularly expanded. Well-organized and kept very very clean. The place breathes sanctity and the temple offerings are received with respect and offered with devotion. A wonderful religious experience especially for Hindus, but also offers a place for non-Hindus to experience an aspect of the HIndu religion.

Nice temple. The canteen is really good. Some of the best south Indian fare you can find in the whole of NYC.

This is an awesome place for spiritual visit. The temple primarily attracts South Indian Hindus and offers all daily and seasonal poojas. Not to mention their canteen, one of the best place in New York to taste South Indian.

I visited this Temple with my wife. It's far out in the queens but worth the trip. Food in the basement canteen is good too!

I went there for lunch with some other American friends. This way we got to taste different dishes. It is a "canteen" in the basement of the Ganesha Temple. We were the only non Indian people there, so we asked some of them on line with us what to order. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I had Dosa Macella (spelling?) It was HOT, but delicious. Their soup is also very hot. In fact almost everything was hot, but very good. This is southern Indian home style cooking. Indian people who own their own restaurants eat there. It's THAT good. Bring tissues!

This temple has been built 35 years ago.Once inside the temple one would feel like we are in India. For those who are religiously inclined will surely like it.If you will have to go this place from NJ the travel time to this place in Queens will take along time-By train at least 3 hours.By car 2hrs.But the Journey will be worth it.

I have been there on occasion of "Akshayya Trutiya" with my wife. Temple is well maintained. You will find Maha Ganapati at the center and all other hindu God/Goddess surrounding Lord Ganesha. Felt really nice to be in temple almost more than month after landing in NY.It's not a tourist must see attraction but for those who want to visit temple in NYC it's nice place. One more thing. I have got best indian food taste in Temple's canteen.
