My friend and I went for wine tasting and tapas and had a great experience. We will defiantly come back again. The food was awesome. The staff (and owner) were super nice. Go, you won't be disappointed, promise.
Bought a $50 certificate for $25 on the local Amazon--was not sure if it would be an issue--it was totally valid and as stated. The Dinner and service was fabulous. The wine was very good on on par with Califorinia wines. The food had a very distinct twist to it, not the same old gourmet foods seen locally. I had the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended from a resident of Saratoga Springs!
Great place. The "Diamond" wine is to die for!!! Perfect atmosphere for date night or for a day trip with girlfriends.
Met three friends for lunch at the Thirsty Owl today... Their new menu items are absolutely wonderful... Try it soon... Nothing like it anywhere in the area...
Easy parking- great atmosphere, interesting menu, delicious food,Pinot noir excellent , staff professional and friendly - can't wait to return !
We love to stop at wineries as we travel up and down the east coast. We have visited another winery in Saratoga and truly enjoyed the experience. My fiancé truly wanted to visit the Thirsty Owl but I was skeptical. Being on Broadway, I just assumed that this was going to be overpriced and very commercial. I was WRONG! We had an amazing experience. The gentleman behind the bar was filled with knowledge, warm & friendly. The manager was filled with smiles an she was genuinely friendly. The food was wonderful, the wines were all amazing and at a very affordable price. We had a great time and will definitely visit again.
Had lunch here today, shared three tapas with my friend Cathy and had leftovers. The food was just wonderful - beautiful presentation and terrific flavors that blended so well together. Service was excellent - very pleasant waitstaff; helpful and attentive. The Chef came out to see how we enjoyed our meal - a really nice touch. I enjoyed the Pinot Gris and even brought a bottle home for dinner tonight. Will certainly make the trip again!
The staff is highly knowledgable about the Thirsty Owl wines and very friendly. We had fun tasting and learning. The place is beautiful and upscale and the overall experience was quite positive. The food looked good although we didn't eat.
We live in Williamstown, Vermont and stayed in Saratoga Springs for a wedding last weekend. My husband and I love to go wine tasting when we have the opportunity and since our wedding started at 3pm we had time to explore the city. First off, I loved the name of the place and had them on my list of places to go. We were the first ones there at 11:30 and the owner had just stepped out so the waiter and cook kept us company. When Josh came back he was amazing and we had such a fun time tasting his recommendations based on the wine I like. We then stayed for lunch which was absolutely amazing! Next time I'm near this area I will definitely stop in!Jo-Anne
We arrived after spending 6 days in NY city and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and wine on the verandah. I would go as far as saying the best lunch since we arrived in th USA. Good service and a lovely experience.
We live in Saratoga and this was the first time dining here. The food was off the hook good. Great tasting bar to hang before sitting at our table. The service was absolutely perfect. Such a fun night and can't wait to go back!
We have been to the Thirsty Owl several times now and I can't think of enough complimentary words to describe it.. From the building to the food the wine and the staff everything is perfect.. The crab cakes are yummee... The paella is terrific.. Calamari is outstanding.. Grilled asparagus is the best ever... The acapulco salad is the perfect lunch.. The seared shrimp with lobster mashed potatoes was beyond good... And as soon as I try more items on the menu I will try to find words to describe them... The semi sweet reisling required bottles to take home... Excellent wine!
I lived in Western NY for 11 years and spent a lot of time in the Finger Lakes drinking wine. I was excited to see a taste of "home" in Saratoga. Our first visit was in November for a wine tasting and lunch. The tasting room is comfortable and the food was great. When friends were in town this week and wanted to go somewhere they hadn't been before, I suggested Thirsty Owl. We, again, started with a wine tasting and got in on the happy hour deal. $5 for a nice pour of red wine for happy hour....sign me up! We decided to sit on the beautiful porch to have our dinner....great choice. We started with the artichoke and crab dip....all enjoyed it. 3 of the 4 at our table ordered the shrimp with lobster mashed potatoes and I had the Scallops and Quinoa. Everyone was extremely happy with their dinner and I think we were all members of the clean plate club. Serving sizes were generous without being "too much" and there were nice big pieces of lobster in the mashed potatoes. My scallops and quinoa were cooked perfectly and the flavors were balanced well. I had a glass of the pinot grigio with my dinner-it was a very nice pairing. Our server Jason was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The executive chef, Xavier, visited our table and we had the opportunity to learn a little about his history. What a find for the Thirsty Owl! Dessert was a delicious end to a fantastic evening....chef's choice bread pudding (YUM!) and flourless chocolate cake with berries. The Port went well with both dessert. I recommend you check this place out now while you can enjoy the porch seating. The dining room was spacious too, so don't be afraid of sitting inside if you prefer. Chef will be changing the menu seasonally which will give me a great excuse to make the trip to Saratoga at least 4 times each year!
I live locally and this was my first time at the Thirsty Owl...Scallops were Delicious! Can't believe this was my first time there! Will be back, for sure!
Our wine tasting was Wonderful! Ending with having a full glass of the Pinot Grigio, which was really good. Will look forward to having dinner there. I was there with my daughter who had been there before with her husband.Visiting from Virginia
