We spent the day in Jackman and it all started with white water rafting. We got to the place they quickly got us all geared up, clean helmets, clean vests, and we were on our way. Our tour guide "jimmy" aka Tyler was awesome and knew everything you'd expect a guide to know. Took us through the best parts of the river and really knew how to make the best of it. After our rafting trip we played some paintball that they also offered as things to do. The course was a little small but we didn't care, most of us just wanted to shoot each other anyways. All and all it was a great bachelor party all because of Windfall company. Everyone was good and I'd definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good rafting experience.. Thanks for everything..... "JIMMY"

We were really delighted with our rafting trip with Windfall Rafting. Seth was very informative on the phone. The sign up and sign in process was streamlined and efficient. Best was the staff: very well-trained and knowledgeable, and also personable young people, who were both helpful and fun to be around. They had a great time, too! We were safe, and entertained. They really know the river and made it a really fun ride. Two in our party skipped the more intense rapids of the upper river, and easily joined the group a little ways downstream. Their equipment is in excellent shape: rafts, helmets, life vests, wet suits (optional, for rent). Bring your own watershoes and non-cotton clothing, including a fleece as it can be chilly after being on the water in northern Maine, even in the July sunshine. A strap to hold your glasses securely is also a good idea, though they also sell them. The guide will stow everything in a dry bag. We will definitely go with Windfall again!

Had the pleasure of doing a rafting trip with Windfall recently on the Kennebec. We had a large group, and getting everyone outfitted and moved to the launch site was well done. Their equipment was good, meaning the wet suits and other wearable gear had not been piled in the corner and pulled out damp and moldy when the customer arrived. The stuff appeared clean, the helmets intact, good condition, etc.We had Ian as our river guide, and that dude is an absolute pro. He was lead guide for this 7 raft trip, and while you may think he's like this off-the-wall college kid that you're taking your chances with, that's far from the truth. He ran our boat with humor and a smile, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. And then, BOOM! we ran into Maytag rapid and the raft was getting pounded by the waves WHAM! and the water was flying and guys were getting tossed about like rag dolls in a clothes dryer and lettin' go of their T grips and one customer gets launched into the river SPLASH! madman Ian is like "I got this, dude" and throws himself across the raft and hauls the waterlogged swimmer back onto that raft like that floundering customer was a small sack of turnips (and I assure you, he was not) and then he's back into the driver's seat hollering commands and the whole crew is like "OK, dude Ian's got this thing under control, so we gotta quit being scared and we just gotta PADDLE!". And we OWNED that class IV rapid. Absolutely EPIC.The preceding story was true. Now, to be serious, all of the guides are college age, and every single one of them comes off as polite, humble, helpful, and customer-focused. Mason, Mark, Lauren, Skylar, Hannah, and Seth were the other guides, and there were others who were along helping out every step of the way. These really are great young people, and they are involved from the distribution of gear in the morning, through serving you at lunch (you should see Hannah wrap a wrap), pulling the rafts out, to returning gear at the end. Kudos to Seth for finding good guides, and a big thanks to the great guides for being good people and good at their jobs, and having a great sense of humor.

The entire Windfall experience was a treat. The staff really wanted to be there and enjoyed what they were doing- they were friendly and knowledgeable. They also worked together well with each other and with those of us rafting which brought a lot of energy onto the river. The rapids were thrilling and exciting. Everyone in our boat had a great time. While is was full of excitement, it was still very family friendly. Also, even before rafting, Windfall staff was really willing to work with me to make sure I was well informed about the rivers, rafting, and everything that goes along with it. Special thank to Seth, Jess and Ian!

I experienced windfall as a group of 4 adults over labor day weekend. I chose to go with these guys because Seth was responsive and helpful (a distinction amongst the competitors) when I reached out to the white water rafting outfitters to plan my trip. To begin with, Windfall gave us advice on which river to raft, what type of raft we might prefer and at my request suggested lodging and even booked a cabin for us. We also booked a raft that was smaller and suited for just our group of 4.The rafting was exhilarating and just amazing. Our guide was Seth, and he worked his butt off to make sure we were having a seriously adrenaline pumping trip. Seth took us seriously when we told him we want a challenge and he did not let us down. In fact, all of the guides are great. On the way to the river, we were given a safety and instruction presentation that had our whole bus in stitches...the staff is hilarious and warm and friendly as can be. The cabin was amazing, huge and super affordable. The town is real "America" and the food is abundant and deep fried. Even though Jackman Maine is a long trip from NYC, I cannot wait to come back! Our expectations were actually exceeded. Go!

We used Windfall Rafting during our Family Vacation in Jackman, Maine this summer! Someone in town recommended it to us - and they certainly didn't "steer" us wrong! We had a couple of very hesitant & newbie rafters in our group and our guide (thank you Hannah!) did an excellent job keeping us all at ease - we all had a blast. Out on the river I got a glimpse of guides from other companies - there was no comparison to the Windfall Guides - I was appalled to see how our guides from other companies were treating their groups...they were abrupt, yelled, spoke inappropriately and were just out-right rude. Where-as every staff member of Windfall was pleasant, humorous, friendly, informative and went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. This was one of the most well-run & organized guided tours I have ever participated in (I've done my fair share!) Thank you for the great time!

We went whitewater rafting with Windfall this past weekend and had the greatest experience. Jake was our guide and he was so fun and really knew his stuff. We were excited to have a great group that we rafted with and enjoyed our time immensely. I have gone rafting before in a much larger group and have to say, a small group was the way to go. Everything was perfect and couldn't have been better. I would recommend Windfall to anyone and everyone.

This was an amazing experience. from the minute we walked into the office location, i had a good feeling about this company. i did not have a pair of water shoes and was prepared to pay double what i would pay at CVS or Walgreens - not the case here. The souvenier items were reasonably priced and of excellent quality. While the staff told us the bus ride to the river would be about an hour, it didn't seem that long because they were very knowlegeable and entertaining.Once we got to the river they split the group up into our separate rafts. Our group of four fifty-somethings were priviledged to have Seth, the General Manager, as our guide. However, Seth and the other guides worked as a team to ensure all 49 of us were safe. After experiencing about two hours of rapids, we pulled over and the guides served us a delicious lunch of chicken wraps made to order, fruit salad, macaroni salad and whoopi pies. Then it was back in the rafts for a another two hour lazy ride down the river. When we got back to the office, we had a slide show of the day's event and got to meet Seth's wife, Kathy, and his three children, Maine, Brayden and Sadie. This was the biggest treat of the day.I can't express enough how truly fabulous it was to spend the day with Seth and the rest of the guides. If you are having doubts about America's future, come spend the day with this group of young adults and your faith will be restored. You can believe everything on their website and then some.

This was our first trip with Windfall and we had a fantastic time! Everybody involved was very friendly and obviously focused on making our trip as good as it could be. Jake was our guide and we couldn't have asked for a better one, He made sure that we got the most out of the Kennebec that day. My wife and I are already talking about coming back next year!

Windfall Rafting was a great trip! The bus picked up my group at our cabin which was awesome because we didn't have to drive to the original meeting point. We had a raft of 10 and had a fantastic guide. His name was Jake and he was a great guy. He was very knowledgeable about the river and even gave us some tips on how to find a moose after our day of rafting! Lunch halfway down the was yummy and very well organized. The rest of the day was a very relaxed float down the river. If your plan is to go whitewater rafting Windfall should be your first choice and ask for Jake to be your guide. You'll have a great time. I guarantee it!

Windfall is hands down the best raft guide company in the Kennebec area! The guides are friendly, professional, and good looking! The food was even good. I would highly recommend this company and plan to use them again.

I was invited to join a group of friends for our very first rafting trip! A total of 16 in our party. The General Manager (Seth) was wonderful and pleasant he models what customer service is all about!! From the phone reservations to the email confirmation and answering follow up questions! We were greeted upon arrival by a very friendly energetic and welcoming staff! The day we booked there wer other small parties and a very very large group of children. They never once lost focus on us and they made us feel like we were their only customers that day! I had an unfortunate accident a few weeks before and injured my shoulder. They were so accommodating and made it possible for me to watch the send off of our group and pick me up midpoint to coast down the river on the smoother part of the ride. Our guides... Mason and Ashley were wonderful and made the day even more memorable!! They learned our names quickly checked on us gauged our element of adventure to really know and understand what we were looking for. Overall it was an A++ day and would highly recommend this company to others!!! Thank you for an amazing maiden voyage, but certainly not the last!

While travelling in Jackman make sure to include a rafting trip with Windfall. From the begining, Heather in the office was personable and helpful. She was a guide but her expertise didnt stop her from showing that she loved her job and people in and out of the water. She took time on the phone and off to answer all questions and ensure safety and that wed have a great trip. Even though the rapids are a short drive East, they gear you up in Jackman then bus you a short trip to the launch site. Or, apparently, you can meet them there if staying outside Jackman. The rapids were Class III and IV and Windfall guides know the river. I felt safe and exhillerated throughout. They provide a campfire stop with lunch midway which was above expectations. Some outfitters dont and only had snacks. I was a little colder and they even provided fleece jackets for us coldies. While there were other outfitters there, I wouldnt go with any other group but windfall. On the water, in observation, our rafts seemed to have more personable guides and be having alot better experience. After the major rapids and lunch, the waters were calmer and we were able to take out little one or two person "duckies" and enjoy some eye level low level rapids. Also, Windfall encouraged some free swimming (or floating). Some boats even had some rafting games going on together laughs and all! Windfall prioritizes safety but encourages an enjoyable river rafting experience.
