They have an excellent bourbon history museum. Loaded with exhibits and interesting items related to bourbon. All distilleries were represented. Good exhibits on the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

My wife and I were in Bardstown in July, and decided to take in a few of the local sights that we missed in October,2012. The Oscar Getz Whiskey museum was a sweet find that we had previously missed out on.Just about anything whiskey related that you can imagine is in there. We had a really good time. Admission is free, however there is a donation box and I recommend donating a couple of bucks because it is worth it. The lady running the place is very friendly and sweet.Expect to stay at least an hour, there is so much to see.

Good for those of us who remember St. Joe Prep School before it closed. There is lots of interesting local history including year b ooks from the school . The Wiskey History is most interesting as well. This building ,constructed around 1820,was used during the Civil War as a hospital. Make this a stop if you are in the Bardstown area.

Spalding Hall is steeped in history having been constructed around 1819. It has served as a college, a seminary, a hospital during the Civil War, an orphanage, and a boys prep school. The Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History and the Bardstown Historical Museum are located within Spalding Hall. A restaurant and St. Catherine College Center are also located in this building. The Getz Museum contains an extensive collection of artifacts and documents covering all aspects of the whiskey industry from pre-Colonial days, Prohibition years, up to the present day. The museum is a great way to learn about whiskey making. Highly recommended.

If you stay in Bardstown and have time to spare, I highly recommend visiting the Goetz Museum located in Spalding Hall. The Museum is a history of bourbon and prohibition in this country and has very interesting facts. The Museum is small, probably 1 hour is all that's needed. It's walking distance from the center of town.

Takes maybe an hour to see and review it all, and it's worth it. No charge (donation jar). On campus of a small catholic college. A neat piece of kentucky history.

Did not realise that Bardstown had a Bourbon History museum despite having visted for over 20 years. This was a very interesting place to go if you like your Bourbon and related artefacts however the signage to find the place is non existent and for such a tourist town this is appalling - local council - get your act together and promote the place
