great views, great trails, beautiful waterfalls, we have taken the kids there many times, and even taken photographers there to take pics of our kids. So much there to see
Expected more than it was with all of the high ratings. Went looking for a quick "wilderness" fix and didn't really find it. Would be a nice place for a picnic. Not for serious hikers.
Very big and trails go for miles so it gives everyone a good chance to enjoy nature the way it should be
The area is nice. Trails everywhere very challenging Running, biking, and hiking trails the trails follow,a lake and a creek so it is really pretty
After eating lunch and taking in a movie in nearby Elizabethtown, drove through Saunders Springs after lunch yesterday.Saw some people taking photos of the leaves or walking/jogging, but far from crowded.Wish the one creek/waterfall had more water in it, but the second one was awesome to look at as always. On the drive back, took a photo of "the valley." Sometimes I forget I'm still in a city near and army base when I'm in this park. And you still can't beat free!
On a recent stay we had in the area we decided to check this place out. Nice area, very well maintained and had a great time.
Perfect for walking, hiking, sighseeing and family picknics! There's a lake nestled in the trees, a babbling brooke and lots of manicured trails for all level of hiking/walking. DO NOT MISS IT!!
Wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature. It is always clean and enjoyable to be here. Pack the care up with a lunch on a Sunday afternoon with the kids. Great place to pass the football or Frisbee. Enjoy!!
Saunder Springs Nature Preserve is a great gem in such a small town. With miles of hiking and cross country biking trails, waterfall, streams, a lake, and picnic areas it has something to offer everyone. Best to come during the week or early on weekends as parking can get limited on busy weekends, especially holidays. The scenery is beautiful, year round, spring, summer, fall and even in the winter.
Saunders Springs looks like it should be a national park. Its waterfalls are just like those you would find in the Smokies.Parking is plentiful. Creekside picnic pavilions are a nice touch. We took the easy trails, but there are several tougher ones.
