Raised there and hard to beat. Must go to Lake Cumberland while in Somerset.Foothills of the Appalachians.
Fun, unique, good deal. I went twice and really enjoyed it. If you have more than two people though, you may want to bring camp chairs or sit in the back of a pick up truck. You've gotta do this at least once in your life if you can.
If you visit our little town here is a rare find... a drive in movie we are so lucky to still have this. Love going to a movie taking some lawn chairs along on a warm summer night and sitting out under the stars. Price is reasonable and great snack bar!
We love going to the drive-in. This one is a great value. It is wise to arrive early especially on Saturday nights. The line gets very long on 27. Admission is a good deal even if you only stay for one movie. The movies are usually new releases. It's nice to have the option of two different sets of movies since there are 2 screens. The food is very reasonably priced and tastes good. It's nice to enjoy the evening outside with good weather or sit in your vehicle if not so nice. We always try to come here a couple times a year.
I'm glad to see this place is still open. You can sit on a blanket with your family and watch a movie. Have a picnic. Takes you back in time. I love that it's open for the season now.
Really loved this drive-in. The drive-in will soon be a thing of the past. I hope they never close. When it is warm the best place to go!
First of all, if you never been to a drive-in it's a pretty cool experience. And, this one is just as good as any I've ever been to... not that I've ever been to another one. It seems like there aren't that many left. Anyways, it's pretty fun. 27 Drive In plays 4 movies on 2 screens, and you can pick and choose which 2 you watch as long as they aren't running at the same time. So, it's two for the price of one. You can sit in your car, pile in the back of a truck, or open the hatch of the minivan and set some lawn chairs out and watch a couple of movies on a massive screen outside. There are really no rules of drive in etiquette as long as you aren't disturbing anyone else's movie night. Pretty cool, right? Me and my friends have even brought a portable grill, a cooler of drinks, thrown a mattress in the bed of the truck, and chilled like shameless rednecks. It's even better if you have a nice sound system in your vehicle with a couple of subwoofers. Even so, take a radio just in case. You never know what could happen. I've sat through a couple movies straining to hear the radio in the front of the truck while I'm sitting in the bed. Not doing that again. That's my fault though, not the drive-in's. So, if you're passing through and it's getting close to dark, see what's playing on the big screens outside, and catch a couple of cheap movies.
Good summer fun, go to the drive in to watch a movie, visit with friends, and eat some popcorn. Tie your visit to the Summer-Nites Car Cruise; we are the official car cruise capital of Kentucky. This is a great way to celebrate the car culture.
What is summer without a drive-in movie night? Family friendly atmosphere, great digital quality movies, two screens. Go early to hang out and stay late for both features! We're so glad we had the chance to go!
